Club Country returns from summer break with line and partner dance lessons followed by open dancing. Instructors teach the steps, then offer a brief review before the social portion. ACMA brings Doug MacLeod back to the area in partnership with the Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium, with Michael Boswell opening. A two-time 2026 Blues Music Award nominee for Acoustic Artist of the Year and Acoustic Album of the Year for Between Somewhere and Goodbye, MacLeod is an internationally acclaimed blues singer, songwriter, guitarist, and storyteller known for soulful vocals, masterful guitar work, and narrative-rich performances. He is a multiple Blues Music Award winner, including 2024 Acoustic Album of the Year for Raw Blues 1 and 2023 Acoustic Artist of the Year, with additional nominations in 2025. His albums A Soul to Claim (produced by Jim Gaines) and Between Somewhere and Goodbye (produced by Andreas Werner) were named Albums of the Year by DownBeatMagazine in 2022 and 2025. With a career spanning more than 40 years and 29 albums, he has worked alongside blues greats such as George Harmonica Smith, Big Joe Turner, Big Mama Thornton, Lowell Fulson, and Pee Wee Crayton. His songs have been recorded by Albert King, Albert Collins, Joe Louis Walker, and Eva Cassidy, and have appeared in film, television, and theater. Michael Boswell’s roots trace to Brighton, Tennessee, where family music set him on his path. After years performing across the country spectrum, he embraced songwriting and moved with his wife to Nashville in 1988. He secured a publishing deal with Levy Production and refined his craft at songwriter nights including The Bluebird and Douglas Corner. His journey then led to video production with the Christian Television Network and a move to Florida. His gentle, authentic songs and media work are presented with a clear sense of purpose to touch and bless the people he reaches. The McGregor Local Farmers Market is a farmers market event taking place at The McGregor Local farmers market.

Explore how animals and play come together in therapy during a two day, in person workshop series featuring interactive learning, hands on practice, and guided discussion. Attendees may participate in one day or both, and enrollment is limited to a small group of 15 to support an engaging experience. Core topics include the human animal bond in play therapy, ethical practice and humane care, the skills people need before involving animals, the needs of the animals themselves, risk awareness, essential equipment, safe interactions, key competencies, and ways to balance relationships among clients and animals. Training techniques are demonstrated and practiced with two or more species, and time is set aside for processing and application. Day 1 is held at Delta Family Counseling and emphasizes ethics and humane engagement, practical work with dogs, and applications to both individual and group therapy. Lunch is on your own. Day 2 takes place on a farm at P and H Ranch, with location details shared after registration, and centers on relationship building, observation, interaction, foundational skills, and the human animal bond in a working farm setting, followed by final hands on activities. Full attendance each day provides six live contact continuing education hours. Delta Family Counseling is approved by the Florida Department of Health to offer continuing education for Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Mental Health Counselors, Provider Number BAP-50-30047, and is an APT Approved Provider, #10-286. The speaker, Mike, has kept fish since childhood and has focused for more than five decades on miniature species. He has recorded successful spawns for over 475 species across 33 families. He was named a Fellow of the Missouri Aquarium Society in recognition of long-standing contributions to the society and the hobby. He operates a small hatchery with roughly 3,000 gallons of water divided among about 100 tanks. Within the Missouri Aquarium Society he is the top ranked breeder in the BAP and the leading aquatic horticulturist in the HAP with more than 320 plant submissions from 50 families, including over a dozen grown from seed. He is also an American Livebearer Association Century Breeder with nearly 150 livebearer species bred. He credits consistent results to large, frequent water changes, keeping live plants in every tank, and feeding a variety of live foods daily to both breeding stock and growing fry. Mike has delivered more than 400 talks to classes, clubs, groups, and conventions throughout the United States and Canada. He has authored over 400 articles in hobby publications worldwide, published two books on live foods with TFH Publications, and written a popular booklet on shipping fish. Updated editions on live foods and a new book on breeding fish are in development.

His work includes operating Lisa’s Lair Bookstore with his wife, Lisa, maintaining a large personal library on aquarium and terrarium subjects, and producing a Nature’s Talk Show podcast on natural history topics for many years.

ACMA member Bill Saltzman opens the show. A lifelong musician who began on drums and later added percussion, vocals, piano, and baritone ukulele, he has performed with bands across rock, folk rock, and Americana. He continues to refine his craft at the Swannanoa Gathering near Asheville, working alongside Grammy-winning songwriters. Tickets are $20 for ACMA and Alliance members and $25 for the general public.
