The opening and awards reception celebrates the 40th year of a juried showcase dedicated to the imagination and skill of Martin County high school artists. Since its start in 1987, the program has supported more than 1,600 students by offering meaningful recognition and a real-world gallery experience that builds confidence and encourages artistic growth. Artwork is nominated by visual art teachers from each high school and spans photography, painting, sculpture, mixed media, assemblage, printmaking, and drawing. Professional artists serve as jurors and will recognize standout works across multiple categories. Some pieces may be selected through the Purchase Award Program for permanent display in local schools and community spaces. This exhibition honors the vision of Marvin S. Cone, a local writer, poet, collector, entrepreneur, and educator who championed young artists in Martin County and helped elevate the annual student show into a celebration of achievement. Guided by MartinArts and its commitment to inspiring passion and participation in the arts, the program continues to shape futures in creative fields and beyond. PAL's May Fishing Clinic

PAL, together with the Savanna and Angler's Fishing Clubs, is offering a free fishing clinic for boys and girls. The clinic covers the basics, including core fishing techniques, how to tie knots, and how to choose and use lures. Participants may bring a rod if they have one, and loaner equipment will be available for those who do not. Expect hands-on instruction with chances to land fish, plus trophies and prizes. Every finisher receives a custom medal and a race shirt. At Moy Yee Hop Ving Tsun in Port St. Lucie, this women-only Mother’s Day sound bath offers a calm setting to honor connection, care, and feminine energy. The 75 minute experience includes a 60 minute immersion in soothing tones from crystal singing bowls, gentle chimes, and the steady rhythm of an ocean drum, followed by 15 minutes for integration. Guided relaxation supports rest and reflection so the body can release tension, the mind can settle, and the heart can open. No prior experience is needed, and pre-registration is required. TAE & The Neighborly

TAE & The Neighborly began with a kitchen story. During the early pandemic, neighbors in a five story Wisconsin building who loved to bake kept borrowing sugar, then decided to move in together to share ingredients. Before long, the rhythms of baking led to making music. Formed in 2020, the group of Andy Welsch, Daniel Pingrey, William Deblaey, and Kelvin Kaspar crafts a spirited mix of soul, R&B, pop, and rock that highlights TAE’s singular voice. Their debut album, Self Help, arrived in 2024. TAE, a Green Bay native and a writer, singer, and guitarist, performed solo before the band came together. Her songs aim to inspire social change, encourage inner dialogue, and advocate for self love, shifting across genres to suit the message. Reviewers have taken notice, with outlets such as Rotary Times and The Cowboy Gazette offering colorful praise for the band and its live show. At the heart of it all is a simple goal, meeting listeners where music is ready to be shared.

This festive 5K at Gazebo At Tradition supports Girls on the Run Treasure Coast, a nonprofit that helps girls in grades three through eight become joyful, healthy, and confident through a research-based program that pairs movement with lessons in teamwork, goal setting, perseverance, and life skills. The course starts and finishes by the gazebo and winds through the nearby neighborhood. A playful, family-friendly vibe is encouraged with Florida Keys flair, from grass skirts and straw hats to funky sunglasses, stuffed parrots, key lime pie, and island music. An awards ceremony recognizes 10-year age groups after the race, followed by an after party around the gazebo. Registration offers several choices. Week 1: Creative Writing Camp at Summit

Young writers in grades 4 through 8 can spend a week developing their storytelling skills through hands-on projects that include drafting original play scripts, experimenting with poetry, and building a Choose Your Own Adventure style game. Guided by game-based teacher Miss Jennifer, the camp nurtures confidence, creativity, and narrative technique in a supportive, engaging setting. Tuition is $225 for the full week. The camp takes place at City Church.

Easy Star All-Stars brings a globally embraced reggae sound built on flexible musicianship, rich vocal blends, and a rhythm section known for deep grooves. For more than two decades, the group has united listeners of reggae, classic rock, dub, and indie rock across tours through over 30 countries on six continents. Founded in New York City in 1997, the band became widely recognized for transforming landmark records into reggae. Highlights include Dub Side of the Moon in 2003, Radiodread in 2006, Easy Star’s Lonely Hearts Dub Band in 2009, the 2010 remix set Dubber Side of the Moon, and Easy Star’s Thrillah in 2012, along with two collections of original material. In 2023 they released Ziggy Stardub, a full reggae reimagining of David Bowie’s The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, featuring guests including Macy Gray, Maxi Priest, Steel Pulse, Fishbone, Mortimer, The Skints, Samory I, Naomi Cowan, SunDub, Alex Lifeson of Rush, and Vernon Reid of Living Colour. Co-founder Michael Goldwasser, who produces and arranges the tribute albums, told Billboard in April 2023 that he packs these projects with details that reward repeated listens and approaches the source material with both humor and respect. He also noted that many listeners discovered reggae through these releases, reflecting the group’s aim to open minds and break down barriers through music.

Steve Earle-51 Years of Songs & Stories

This performance highlights 51 years of songs and stories from acclaimed singer and songwriter Steve Earle. He became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2025 and is part of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, with recognition from the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music. Mentored by Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, Earle developed into a singular storyteller whose songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, and the Pretenders. His debut album, Guitar Town, launched his career as its lead single reached Number 7 on the Billboard Hot Country chart, and the album is considered a classic of the Americana genre. Later releases The Revolution Starts…Now, Washington Square Serenade, and TOWNES received Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Folk Album, and he holds four additional nominations in that category. His creativity spans far beyond the studio. He has published a novel and a short story collection, produced albums for artists including Joan Baez and Lucinda Williams, and acted in film and television, including on The Wire, as well as on stage. In 2009 he appeared in the off Broadway play Samara and composed its score, which The New York Times praised for its subtle effect. He also wrote music and appeared in Coal Country, a Public Theatre production about the deadliest mining accident in U.S. history, earning a Drama Desk Award nomination for the music. He hosts the weekly show Hard Core Troubadour on Sirius Radio’s Outlaw Country channel. The event presents a career-spanning set of songs and stories drawn from a lifetime of work in music, writing, production, acting, and radio.

Rock & Rhythm Camp offers students a week of making music together through playing, learning, and creating.
