Cami MonetNewborn Feeding Foundations: Breastfeeding in the First Month
Gain a clear, practical picture of breastfeeding in the first month with a class that helps you recognize what is challenging yet typical and what needs prompt attention. Instruction comes from two perspectives. Dr. Irissa Rosario, MD, a board-certified pediatrician with 15 years of experience caring for newborns and their families, teams up with Giovana Rorato, IBCLC and owner of Lactation Station, to combine medical guidance with hands-on lactation expertise in one session. Topics include normal feeding patterns such as frequency and cluster feeding, how an effective latch should feel, expected early weight changes, using diaper output as daily feedback, and the way milk supply is established. You will also learn what can signal a problem, including a latch that needs adjustment, nipple pain that goes beyond early soreness, indications of poor milk transfer, and warning signs for dehydration or jaundice. The class explains when to seek help, who to contact and how quickly, how to distinguish a lactation question from a medical concern, and ways to advocate for yourself when something seems off. This is a hands-on experience with time to practice feeding positions, handle different types of breast pumps, and evaluate breastfeeding supplies so you can identify what truly works for you. There is ample space for questions. Snacks and tea are provided to keep the session comfortable, and participants leave with practical tools, a support plan, and confidence for the early weeks.

Rollins Museum of ArtWhat Every Parent Should Know About Bottle Feeding
At Lactation Station Florida, this hands-on class offers practical guidance for anyone using bottles, pumping, combining methods, or preparing ahead. The first portion focuses on choosing formula, with clear explanations of what differentiates each type, how to read labels without getting lost in marketing, when cow’s milk based, specialized, or gentle options may be appropriate, and which situations call for a conversation with a pediatrician. The second portion centers on confident bottle feeding, including how to select bottles and nipples and understand flow rates, the basics of paced feeding and why it helps protect babies, reading hunger and fullness cues, positioning for calm feeds, how much and how often to offer, avoiding overfeeding, safe preparation and storage for formula and expressed milk, strategies for combo feeding, what nipple confusion really means, and how to respond if a baby refuses the bottle. Instruction comes from Dr. Irissa Rosario, MD, a board-certified pediatrician with fifteen years of experience supporting newborns and their families, together with Giovana Rorato, IBCLC and owner of Lactation Station, bringing hands-on lactation expertise so both medical and lactation perspectives are covered in one place. Participants compare real formula options side by side, handle different bottles and nipples, and practice paced feeding techniques, with time for questions throughout. Snacks and tea are provided. Expecting parents, those returning to work, and anyone already navigating feeding are welcome.
