Rhys Bennett brings live jazz to The Monroe TLH, where cocktails and food meet a backdrop of saxophone and keyboard. The repertoire includes well loved standards linked to artists such as Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Blossom Dearie, delivered with a swinging pulse, fresh phrasing, and genuine improvisation. Samba selections and jazz infused takes on popular songs keep things recognizable yet never routine. This performance is among the final solo shows of the summer, with trio and quartet performances set to return.

Come celebrate First Friday at NorthFlora Collective in Railroad Square with a set of rock covers, plus a featured performance by Mary Ann Hoffman. The doors open early, and the show runs in the evening. Admission is free.

Musicians of any level are welcome to participate, and listeners can enjoy homegrown music that pairs nicely with a pint or a cup of coffee. Admission is free.

Step onto the dance floor as the Tallahassee Swing Band provides the soundtrack at the American Legion. Admission is 10 dollars for adults and 7 dollars for students.

Join Ms. Kim from Healing Hearts Music Therapy for Play and Sing Music, a class that combines movement, motor-skill activities, and sign language. Kids will sing and play instruments while learning about emotions, body parts, animals, colors, and more. After the music portion, there will be open play. Class size is limited and preregistration is required.

An open mic with Doc Russell at Blue Tavern offers signups, with the playing order determined by a lottery. Sets run about 12 to 15 minutes, adjusted according to the number of performers. Admission is free, and each performer receives a complimentary drink.

Brett and “Dangerous” Dave host an open blues jam recognized as Tallahassee’s longest-running, held every week for more than nine years at The Getaway Grille and Bar. Musicians are welcome to sharpen their skills or share what they know, and listeners are encouraged to soak up the music and support the performers. A backline is provided, so bringing an amplifier is not necessary. What began years ago has grown into a friendly community of musical friends.

Join Brett & "Dangerous" Dave for Tallahassee’s long-running blues jam. It’s a welcoming, weekly-style setup where you can sharpen your skills, teach others, or just enjoy the music and cheer on the performers, even if you don’t play an instrument. The jam has backline provided, so you don’t need to bring an amplifier. Music kicks off at 6:00 PM.
