📰 In the news
Stricter driving phone rules: Vero Beach’s Sen. Erin Grall filed a bill to ban holding phones while driving, even in your lap. If it passes, drivers could face fines and a 90-day license suspension — learn what’s in the bill.
More ways to fly: JetBlue has added daily flights from Vero Beach to New York and Boston, and will launch new Fort Lauderdale and Orlando routes this spring with some fares starting at $49 — learn about routes and fees.
Big step for water quality: A $52 million SFWMD project will send C-23 canal water to the C-44 Reservoir, reducing nutrient pollution in the St. Lucie and Indian River Lagoon. Completion is planned in the first quarter of 2026 — see how the plan works.
Are you overpaying? The national average for car insurance is around $175 per month. I was paying over $300 for ONE car until I checked out various quotes, switched providers, and ultimately cut my premium in half. If you haven’t checked in a while, you’re probably losing money too — this free comparison tool makes it easy.
Gold & silver are hot: Gold just had it’s best year since 1979. Silver did even better, climbing nearly 150% in 2025… and analysts expect the momentum to continue. If you’re curious about adding precious metals to your portfolio as a market hedge, American Hartford has a helpful guide that covers everything you need to know. It’s free — and definitely worth a read.

Highlights this week:

🫶 We got your back
Annual benefit concert returns: An elegant evening of music arrives today at Orchid Island Golf and Beach Club in Vero Beach, featuring violinist Hina Khuong-Huu and pianist Lindsay Garritson. Maestro David Amado leads the Atlantic Classical Orchestra. An après concert reception includes cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are $160. The public is invited. Get all the details.
Low‑drama brow fix: Whether you’re overdue for a tidy‑up or craving a softer, polished shape, GT Lash And Brows keeps brows clean with zero drama. Add a lash boost or quick skin refresh while you’re there for an easy midweek reset… so Friday you can ditch the hat.
Art fix for locals: Between rotating exhibitions, a bustling art school, and a lecture series that sparks dinner-table debates, Vero Beach Museum of Art is perfect for a midweek reset or weekend inspiration. Pop in, wander a gallery, and head out with your curiosity refreshed.
A new haircare solution: My hair’s been thinning and I’ve been quietly ignoring it, hoping it’ll fix itself. Plot twist… it hasn’t. When I finally started looking into what I should do, there were so many options I didn’t know where to start. I stumbled on Keranique, and its simplicity really sold me. One kit, no pills, no choosing products, and no confusion whatsoever. It’s also on sale with a money-back guarantee (although I doubt you’ll need it).
