4th Annual Breast Cancer Hike & Assembly Stone Mountain

Stone Mountain Walk-Up Trail, Stone Mountain · verified Oct 11
    See details

Now in its fourth year, this Breast Cancer Awareness Hike and Assembly at the Stone Mountain Walk-Up Trail in Stone Mountain, GA brings people together for a day of remembrance, encouragement, movement, and community, hosted by Adults P.L.A.Y. 360. While breast cancer is the focus, the gathering embraces all cancers, honoring every story and every effort to raise awareness. Attendees are invited to express their support with tutus, cancer-awareness colors, or anything that reflects a personal reason for being there. The day begins with sign-in and a relaxed pre-hike meetup featuring casual games, photo opportunities, conversation, and goody bags while supplies last, along with chances to win prizes. Before setting off, organizers will review prize winners, share important announcements, explain the route, and lead a stretch. The group will then make the ascent to the top of Stone Mountain, a climb that typically takes less than an hour depending on pace and conditions. At the summit, an assembly offers space for reflection, shared experiences, remembrance, and encouragement. Participants who prefer to ride the Summit Skyride instead of hiking are encouraged to take part in the pre-hike gathering for games, photos, announcements, and the opportunity to receive a goody bag while supplies last. Those interested in speaking during the summit assembly can email adultsplaycolga@gmail.com with the subject line Stone Mountain Speaker.

    See details

Blueburst brings its guitar-charged sound to Eddie’s Attic, led by guitarist and vocalist Craig Douglas Miller alongside renowned guitarist Marty Willson-Piper of The Church, Noctorum, and All About Eve. Their partnership revived a long-paused musical journey for Miller and now powers songs rooted in 80s alternative and post-punk, weaving a blend of crunch, chime, and jangle with themes of mortality, reinvention, and making the most of every moment. With the debut album Significance setting the stage, the project steps into the spotlight as a full live band. Ben Etter on bass, Andrew Keller on guitar, and Dana Locatell on drums join Miller and Willson-Piper for the first electric shows. A second album is underway, with new singles arriving each month leading up to the full release.

    Maya de Vity

    Eddie's Attic, 515 N McDonough St, Decatur · verified Oct 9
    See details

Presented by Atlanta Americana, Eddie's Attic hosts a live set from singer and songwriter Maya de Vitry. Known for performances that thrive on spontaneity and for lyrics that sift for truth, she arrives with her fifth full-length, All My Faith, rooted in alt-country and indie folk with a raw, present feel. The songs roam from canyons and kitchens to cold lakes and highway truck stops, blending moments of joy, sorrow, and frank honesty. Stories span from bleary airport bachelorette escapades in Nashville to reflections on the patterns that can confine us, carried by a steady confidence and a belief in the transformative pull of song. Recorded and mixed by engineer Sean Sullivan, a five-time Grammy recipient, and produced by de Vitry, the album gathers trusted collaborators, including Spencer Cullum and Ethan Ballinger on pedal steel and guitar, Jo Schornikow on keys, Ethan Jodziewicz on bass, Dominic Billett on drums, and harmony vocals from Shelby Means and Joel Timmons. Opening with a title track that embraces time, love, and uncertainty, the record considers how people care for one another and the healing that can grow from those connections, a presence she continues to cultivate on stage.
