    John Hollier & The Reverie

    Eddie's Attic, 515 N McDonough St, Decatur · verified Oct 9
    See details

John Hollier & The Rêverie bring a charged blend of rock, soul, alt-country, and indie-folk to Eddie’s Attic, led by the Louisiana-born singer-songwriter behind Rainmaker. Recorded with his road band to preserve their natural chemistry, the album channels the same stage-ready spark, heard on the single Somewhere Down the Road, a plea for clarity and resolve while pursuing big dreams. Hollier’s roots reach back to a crawfish farm in French-Cajun country, and the group’s name nods to the Old French word rêver, meaning to dream. The ensemble performs with fire and heart, drawing comparisons to Bruce Springsteen, Nathaniel Rateliff, and Needtobreathe, leaning into their strengths to shape a sound that stands apart.

1447 Church St, Decatur · verified Oct 11
    See details

Recharge midday with an in person Tai Chi and Qigong class led by Sanne Larsen. Sessions take place outdoors on a lawn when the weather cooperates, then move inside if shelter is needed. The class runs for one hour and welcomes beginners as well as returning practitioners. Movements are low impact and focus on gentle flow, mindful attention, breath practice, and simple self-massage. Students explore simplified Tai Chi forms while drawing on Qigong and Tai Chi methods to awaken, develop, and balance qi, often pronounced chee, which ancient practitioners describe as the life force that enlivens and connects us. Research has shown that regular practice can support balance and fall prevention, sharpen concentration, and help strengthen the immune system. Drop in for $15 per class, or use a class card with 4 classes in an 8 week cycle for $50. Pay on arrival by cash, check, or credit card. All proceeds support the Atlanta Shambhala Center. Sanne holds certifications from the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi and the Healer Within Foundation, both founded by Dr. Roger Jahnke, as well as from the Tai Chi for Health Institute founded by Dr. Paul Lam. In 2018 she studied with Master Zhou, head of the Tai Chi and Qigong school at Wudang Mountain in China, a place long associated with the origins of Tai Chi. Her background includes studies in Buddhism and Taoism and a brown belt in Goju Ryu karate, a tradition that blends hard and soft principles to meet the shifts of daily life.

    Eddie's Attic, 515 N McDonough St, Decatur · verified Oct 9
    See details

Presented by Atlanta Americana, Eddie's Attic hosts a live set from singer and songwriter Maya de Vitry. Known for performances that thrive on spontaneity and for lyrics that sift for truth, she arrives with her fifth full-length, All My Faith, rooted in alt-country and indie folk with a raw, present feel. The songs roam from canyons and kitchens to cold lakes and highway truck stops, blending moments of joy, sorrow, and frank honesty. Stories span from bleary airport bachelorette escapades in Nashville to reflections on the patterns that can confine us, carried by a steady confidence and a belief in the transformative pull of song. Recorded and mixed by engineer Sean Sullivan, a five-time Grammy recipient, and produced by de Vitry, the album gathers trusted collaborators, including Spencer Cullum and Ethan Ballinger on pedal steel and guitar, Jo Schornikow on keys, Ethan Jodziewicz on bass, Dominic Billett on drums, and harmony vocals from Shelby Means and Joel Timmons. Opening with a title track that embraces time, love, and uncertainty, the record considers how people care for one another and the healing that can grow from those connections, a presence she continues to cultivate on stage.

Slow Accordion centers on groove, interaction, and tone in a free flowing instrumental setting. This newly formed Nashville quartet features guitarist Oliver Wood of The Wood Brothers, bassist Ted Pecchio with ties to Colonel Bruce Hampton and Doyle Bramhall, drummer Mark Raudabaugh whose work includes Sierra Hull, Jim Lauderdale, and Fred Wesley, and Matt Glassmeyer from the New York and Nashville improvising scenes on his singular Wurlitzer (Meadownoise, Lambchop, Billy Martin, Aqua Teen Hunger Force). Their debut on Royal Potato Family Records is a seven track collection recorded entirely to analog tape and created on the spot, even catching the moment the reel ran out midway through the final piece. Listeners first encountered his distinctive songwriting with Grant Lee Buffalo, whose early releases Fuzzy and Mighty Joe Moon, which includes the modern rock favorite Mockingbirds, established a lasting reputation. Since his 2000 solo debut, he has pursued a folk and Americana path rich in detail and humanity, and his portrayal of the town troubadour on Gilmore Girls introduced him to many new fans. Often on the road in the U.S. and abroad, he continues to weave love songs and socially aware pieces into a cohesive, human-centered set.

Mel Bryant & the Mercy Makers w/ special guest Ash Tuesday

    515 N McDonough St, Decatur
    See details

Eddie’s Attic hosts Mel Bryant & the Mercy Makers with special guest Ash Tuesday. This East Coast born rock outfit blends the bite of modern punk, the drive of classic rock, and the moody pull of indie influences, shaped by a DIY process in a backyard barn they converted into a home studio in East Nashville. Onstage, gritty guitars and pounding drums fuel songs led by Mel Bryant’s commanding bass and sharp, fearless lyrics. Their storytelling reflects the place they call home, taking on queerness, mental health, and anti fascism with a sly sense of humor that can land as a laugh, a cry, or a scream. Their album Every God Forsaken Morning drew critical praise and national radio play, and a live release showcases the electricity of their performance.

David Penn and CreativeTone Live at Eddie’s Attic!

    515 N McDonough St, Decatur · verified Oct 11
    See details

David Penn and CreativeTone return to Eddie’s Attic for an evening of jazz centered on the new album Next Step, paired with other recent pieces from the group. Next Step continues the path that began with his debut Back on Track, offering a contrasting perspective to that first record. On the recording, the band includes Raquel Lozano on vocals, Fareed Mahluli on saxophone, Joel Stewart on piano, and Tracy Williams on drums. Penn, a bassist from Hempstead, New York, built his craft across the New York scene while studying computer science at St. John’s University in Jamaica, Queens, and he also studied with Cecil McBee. Early work connected him with Talib Qadir, Cecil Bridgewater, Bill Saxton, Billy Mitchell, Walter Davis Jr., Charlie Persip, and Betty Carter. During his time with Carter he played with pianist Khalid Moss and drummer Lewis Nash before Benny Green joined the group, and he has more recently appeared in Atlanta with tenor saxophonist Billy Harper. Back on Track earned positive feedback from audiences and streaming listeners, and the new release showcases a wide range of jazz ideas from the ensemble.

RAM Free Clinic - Stone Mountain, GA

2201 Young Rd, Stone Mountain · verified Oct 11
    Free

RAM will operate a free pop-up clinic at Berean Christian Church in Stone Mountain, offering dental, vision, and general medical care at no cost on a first come, first served basis. Capacity, especially for dental and vision, is often reached early. Once full, no additional patients can be admitted and operations begin winding down. Arriving early offers the best chance to be seen, and because of time limits you may be asked to choose between dental and vision. General medical care is available to all attendees. When you arrive, RAM staff and volunteers will explain procedures and next steps. If you plan to come early, bring your own food, water, necessary medications, and clothing suitable for the weather. Restrooms are available at the parking area. All services are free and open to the public, with no ID or insurance required. Schedules and parking procedures may adjust due to weather, volunteer changes, or other unexpected circumstances, which can also limit the number of patients served. The second day follows an abbreviated schedule, so earlier arrival is encouraged. Posted end times do not guarantee service availability. For the latest details, check the event page for updates.
