The Core: A H.O.R.D.E. Festival Revival

The Society Garden, 2385 Ingleside Ave, Macon · verified Jul 31
    See details

The H.O.R.D.E. Festival Revival from The Core celebrates the adventurous spirit of the original 1990s H.O.R.D.E. tours. The set draws from the catalogs of Widespread Panic, Dave Matthews Band, Phish, Blues Traveler, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, The Allman Brothers Band, Gov’t Mule, Spin Doctors, and more, capturing the sweep of a full tour in one night. It looks back to a moment when these bands were breaking through and the music felt wide open and exploratory. The focus rests on 1992 through 1998, spotlighting songs that shaped the era and still resonate. It also nods to a time before phones and streaming, when discovery happened live in the room and the music remained the center of attention. The Core features Georgia musicians Josh Carson of Acoustic Workshop and Parts & Labor, Bo Hembree of Dreams So Real and Diablo Sandwich, Chris Queen of Allgood, Phil Keaggy, and Dreams So Real, and David Fisch of David Fisch & The Bent Hooks. The group is anchored by a seasoned rhythm section with Kevin Leahy, whose credits include Bodeans, Sugarland, Shawn Mullins, Allgood, and Zac Brown, Rob Sumowski with Allgood, Billy Pilgrim, Shawn Mullins, Kevn Kinney, and Brent Cobb, and Bill Taylor with Tribute: A Celebration of The Allman Brothers Band, Jupiter Coyote, and The Bitteroots.
