    S.O.S. Al-Anon Open Meeting — Saturdays at 11 AM

Alachua Club - 32 N. Third St., Fernandina Beach, FL, United States, Florida 32034, 32 N 3rd St, Fernandina Beach · verified Sep 6
    Free

An open Al-Anon meeting of the S.O.S. Al-Anon Family Group provides a welcoming space at The Alachua Club in Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island. This fellowship serves relatives and friends of alcoholics, and it is separate from AA because it is not intended for the person with the drinking problem. The group meets each week, and meetings are free and confidential, with newcomers welcome. There is no simple solution to stop someone from drinking. Participants learn ways to cope with the challenges that come with another person’s alcohol use, gain a better understanding of how families are affected, and explore healthier responses. By sharing experiences and encouragement, many feel less alone, discover new perspectives, and focus on living one day at a time. Support is available whether the drinker in your life is still using, sober, in recovery, unwilling to seek help, or no longer present. Because this is an open meeting, family members and friends are welcome, and observers may attend as well, including professionals, medical staff, students, reporters, and anyone interested in learning about the impact of alcohol on loved ones. The location is accessible. S.O.S. Al-Anon Family Group, AFG #2564, is part of North Florida District 3.
