A visiting watercolor instructor leads a relaxed, one-day workshop focused on building confidence with washes, blends, and transitions that create a soft, natural look. Participants explore techniques that move from grayscale studies to full color, with guidance suited to beginners and those with some experience, and it is open to all skill levels. Students are encouraged to bring their own supplies, though it is not required and materials will be provided as needed. If bringing personal materials, recommended items include Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolor tubes in six assorted colors, a Strathmore 400 pad in 9x12 cold press at 140 lb, synthetic sable brushes including a flat one quarter inch or larger and round sizes 2 and 8, and a divided watercolor palette. Open to high school students and adults. Tuition is $88, and members receive a 20% discount. Free parking is available at the Art Center.

This event welcomes all. It features a presentation on what makes snakes unique, along with an opportunity to meet Walt and Blaze, the two snakes that live at the nature center. After the presentation, participants can head out on a hike to look for snakes in the wild. No registration is required.

Create a story through art with a hands-on session focused on Picture this: story drawings. Students explore a variety of media, including painting, printing, drawing, assemblage, clay, and sculpture, and take their artwork home at the end of class. Dress for a mess and invite friends to come along. No pre-registration is required, pay as you go. Multi-media art projects are $7 per project, with payment due at the beginning of class. Children 7 years and younger may participate when accompanied by an adult who will assist with the project.

Tee it up at Whispering Creek Golf Club for the fourth annual golf scramble benefiting North High School athletics and activities through the Stars Booster Club. Four player teams will enjoy a shotgun format, with check in and lunch before the round. A $15,000 hole in one prize will be featured on a par 3, along with additional hole in one opportunities on other par 3s. When registering, each team can select the North High team or activity they want to support. The activity backed by the most teams will receive a $500 donation. Entry is $420 per team, which includes meals for all golfers, or $525 per team to include meals plus a hole sponsorship sign. Sponsorship opportunities are available for those who would like to contribute. This fundraiser is organized by the Stars Booster Club in support of North High School athletics and activities.
