    Community Journeying and Meditation Circle

    2819 100th St, Urbandale

Rooted in shamanic practice and often likened to a waking dream, this approach is simple yet potent, fostering empowerment and a felt connection with universal life energy. Practicing in a group helps each person go deeper than they might alone, nurturing a sense of community. The intention is to offer accessible shared spiritual practice without requiring significant time, money, or energy. At times a theme is offered, and at other times the focus is shaped by what the group most needs. The circle concludes with an optional time for sharing, where attendees may speak about their experience or continue on with their day. It is an opportunity to meet others and develop intuitive skills. Radiate Light Collective offers this space in service to the community.

    2nd Women Comp!

    1472 NE 69th Pl, Ankeny · verified Sep 27
    See details

This women’s competition brings together eight teams of two for a full slate of strength tests and a fast relay, with a $50 entry fee and a requirement that each pair wear matching color tops or shirts. The bench press is set at 35 percent of the athlete’s body weight, with 20 pounds added after completing 20 reps and another 20 pounds added upon reaching 40 reps. The back squat starts at 50 percent of body weight, then 25 pounds are added to each side after 25 reps. The deadlift begins at 60 percent of body weight, with 35 pounds added to each side after 25 reps. Each partner completes their own repetitions, and teams may combine partner totals for a team score if desired. Officials will check form on all lifts, and safety gear such as belts, wrist wraps, and knee sleeves may be permitted if specified. The cardio portion is a relay of six laps around the building per team. Either athlete can run any number of laps, and the target is the fastest combined time. Sled pulls start at 90 pounds, and the sled must remain in contact with the ground at all times. Weight increases are 25 for two cones, 15 for five cones, and 10 for the remaining cones. The goal is to pull the sled more than 50 feet, with scoring based on distance multiplied by the weight moved. Overall standings can be determined by converting each event into points, such as reps times the lift’s body weight percentage, time converted to points for the relay, and distance times weight for the sled. Partners are encouraged to plan their approach so the workload and pacing fit their strengths.
