Emotional Explorers Club is a free six-week group for children ages 8 to 10 that helps participants recognize, understand, and express their emotions in healthy ways. Through art, games, movement, storytelling, and other interactive activities, children build emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, and grow in confidence as they navigate everyday ups and downs. Participants practice identifying and naming feelings, expressing them creatively, communicating in healthy ways, and using strategies for managing difficult moments, all while connecting with peers in a supportive setting. Space is limited to 10 participants. This family-centered program includes a concurrent Emotional Explorers Parent Circle that a parent or caregiver is required to attend, giving families a shared emotional language and practical tools to use at home. M.O.S.S., short for Memories of Significant Spaces, is a four session collage class with instructor Ben Salus that turns a meaningful place from your past into a visual story. Participants begin by recalling a specific setting and looking at collage examples, then plan the composition with quick sketches that consider viewpoint, light, surroundings, people, and objects. The next step focuses on constructing the scene by shaping foreground and background and cutting the major forms of the space, such as walls, furniture, trees, water, or landscape features. After that, participants share works in progress and layer in the personal touches that make the memory unique, including toys, posters, plants, animals, and patterns. The final session adds texture, drawn and written elements, and finishing adjustments, with time to share the story and hear questions from the group. Open to middle schoolers, teens, and adults, this class welcomes beginners and requires no prior collage experience. Enrollment ranges from 3 to 10 students. The price is $200 per student. Please bring multicolored construction paper, any additional papers you would like to use such as newspapers, magazines, maps, or other decorative sheets, along with glue sticks or school glue and scissors.
