Get started with hockey in a welcoming, beginner-focused program featuring on-ice instruction in partnership with Columbus Youth Hockey. The SMVS posse of NCOWS hosts a monthly shoot featuring six stages with a strong emphasis on safety and historical attire. Registration takes place before a mandatory safety briefing, and the match begins right after the briefing concludes. Everyone attending is required to wear safety eyewear and hearing protection. Shooters must arrive in authentic pre-1900 western clothing, and ball caps or t-shirts are not permitted.

A fall car and truck show at Master Power Transmission spotlights Ford vehicles and Mustangs. This year the featured model is the Boss Mustang, providing a central focus for the displays throughout the show.

Learn the fundamentals of small game hunting at a beginner-friendly workshop held at Atterbury Fish & Wildlife Area. Geared toward adults 16 and older, the session introduces basic squirrel biology, effective hunting strategies, gear selection, safety practices, and regulations, then shows how to turn a successful harvest into a meal from field to table. Instruction begins with a 30 to 45 minute presentation followed by hands-on activities to practice skills you may use in the field. Expect a short walk of up to one mile. Wear pants and closed-toe shoes for comfort and safety. Prior hunter education certification is not required, though the material builds on its core principles. This free workshop requires registration. A non-registered Sunday shoot hosted by Columbus Gun Club at CERAland Recreational Park features a 100 bird Calcutta reserved for CGC club members. Non-members can purchase membership that remains valid through the end of the 2027 calendar year. Activities move from practice to a sale for participants, then competition begins right after. The program consists of 50 targets from 16 yards and 50 targets at ATA, with no ATA involved, and management will set a known shooting distance.
