Two race formats are available. CIA Lite offers a 4 hour, beginner friendly introduction with simplified skills. The full Central Indiana Adventure runs for 12 hours and is designed for participants seeking a bigger challenge.

The inaugural West Central Indiana Renaissance Faire brings a festive experience to the Putnam County Fairgrounds in Greencastle. It features live entertainment, live steel combat, and a variety of unique vendors. Attendees are welcome to come in everyday clothes or dress up in any costume they like.

Explore the night sky away from city lights at McCloud Nature Park with a beginner friendly program presented by the Indiana Astronomical Society in partnership with Park Naturalists. The evening starts inside the Nature Center with a brief sky seminar that highlights which planets and constellations are expected to be visible, then moves outside for telescope viewing if conditions allow. Telescopes of various sizes will be available to use. The seminar lasts about 30 minutes and is best suited for ages 8 and older, and the full program runs approximately two hours. Attendance is free, open to all ages, and no advance registration is needed. Indoor seminars occur regardless of weather. Outdoor viewing depends on clear skies and will be canceled if poor weather is forecast or if severe weather advisories are issued. On Astronomy nights the park closes at 11 p.m.

Learn the basics of mushroom cultivation in a hands-on session where you will inoculate a small oak log with shiitake or oyster spawn. Take your log home to continue the process and watch it grow. This Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills training takes place at Camp Krietenstein as part of the Western Division Fall Camporee. Designed for Scoutmasters, assistant Scoutmasters, and other adult volunteers in Scouts BSA, the course builds confidence and readiness to guide youth safely and effectively in outdoor settings. Through practical, learn by doing sessions, participants explore the patrol method and how to support a Scout led troop while practicing core field skills that include setting up camp, outdoor cooking, safe fire building, basic map and compass navigation, and caring for the environment. The program also demonstrates ways to teach these topics with clear instruction, engaging learning games, and leadership techniques that can be applied directly to troop activities. The fee is 20 dollars per person.

Bridgeton’s historic district becomes a festive marketplace with unique gifts, handmade crafts, original artwork, decorations and lights, live music, food, and plenty of holiday fun. Vendors and shops are open and filled with gift ideas throughout the celebration. Santa appears in the 1822 Log Cabin on weekend days. The event spans two three-day weekends, giving visitors several opportunities to explore and shop.

The judging panel brings together five AQHA judges alongside two NSBA judges, providing representation from both organizations.

At McCloud Nature Park, participants create a festive winter wreath to display at home or give as a present. The workshop begins with wild grapevine and fresh evergreens to build the base, then continues with decorating using ribbons and ornaments provided, or personal touches brought from home. This hands-on experience welcomes all ages and is popular with individuals and families. The program lasts about 90 minutes, costs $35 per wreath, and requires advance registration.

The Christmas in Cloverdale Lighted Parade showcases creatively decorated, illuminated vehicles. Staging is in the Football Parking and Bus Barn area, and judging with awards takes place during lineup. After registering, placement information is sent to the email on file. Late entries are welcome and will be added at the end. Please provide a short description of your entry so the emcee can announce it at the reviewing stand. To keep participants and spectators safe, do not toss candy or other items. Giveaways should be handed directly to people along the way. Vehicles must be fully decorated and lit. Emergency units keep sirens and horns off unless responding to an actual emergency, and music through PA systems is welcome. At the start, turn off or cover headlights and daytime running lights. Every vehicular entry must carry at least one readily accessible fire extinguisher. Only one Santa appears at the parade’s conclusion, and no other Santa attire is permitted. Santa will also be at the Icehouse for photos and to hear wishes. Complimentary hot chocolate and cookies will be available outside, and there may be other special guests.
