Beginner Stained Glass: Vacay Vibes

Discover stained glass fundamentals in a welcoming, four-hour class that guides participants through creating a vacation-themed suncatcher. Designed with beginners in mind, it also suits anyone interested in exploring this craft, and the techniques learned can be built on in future projects or classes. Tuition is 55 dollars per person for SHAK members and 70 dollars for non-members. These workshops tend to fill quickly, so registration should be made with firm plans to attend. Refunds and transfers are limited and handled case by case. Students can use materials from the available scrap glass bins or bring their own stained glass. Many participants source glass from Kokomo Opalescent Glass, Hobby Lobby, or online retailers. Ages 12 and up are welcome. Minors must attend with an adult who is willing to assist as needed. An assisting adult may participate at no charge if they are only helping the minor, while adults who wish to create their own piece must register and pay as students. Closed-toe shoes are required. Prescription or reading glasses can be helpful but are optional. Personal safety glasses and sturdy gardening or safety gloves are welcome if you prefer not to use shared equipment, and thin disposable gloves are not permitted. These items are typically available at home improvement stores. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are welcome, and Lexis next door offers an additional option. For everyone’s well-being, all attendees must follow instructions and safety guidelines. Those who are unable or unwilling to do so may be asked to leave SHAK without a refund.
