It also serves as a practical warmup for those preparing for the Bowhunter Games in Clarksville, Tennessee. Admission is $20 for adults and $15 for youth ages 15 and under. The 34th annual Charlie Hapenny Memorial golf scramble at Oak Ridge Golf Course supports the Help-A-Family at Christmas program, turning a round of golf into holiday assistance for local children. The entry fee is $60 per player and includes a green fee, a cart, and lunch. Cash prizes are awarded to the top finishers, with $300 for first place, $200 for second, and $100 for third. Event proceeds provide clothing for children in need during the Christmas season, and through donations, sponsorships, and participation, last year’s scramble helped 57 children from the community.

A day of softball and community focused on fundraising for Happy Tails Animal Rescue, supporting care and second chances for animals. The event takes place at Spencer Park in Terre Haute.

Dunland Belegarth hosts a regular combat practice in Forest Park, meeting at Shelter 5 just south of the Gold Course building. The practice centers on Belegarth Medieval Combat Society, a fast paced, full contact foam fighting sport that blends fantasy flavor with the physicality of a contact sport. Participants use foam padded weapons in a competitive and friendly environment, with all gear safety checked and field marshals enforcing the rules. Newcomers are welcome and do not need to bring equipment, as loaner swords and shields are provided. Wear athletic clothing and sturdy shoes, not cleats, and bring water to stay hydrated. The atmosphere is family friendly, and many regulars have children from newborn to teens. To take part in the fighting, minors must be at least 16, have a notarized waiver, and have a parent or guardian present for the full practice. Activities are weather dependent, and any last minute cancellations are shared on the event page.

The Rooted community dinner at Harlan Hall brings people together for a home-cooked meal and thoughtful conversation about the journey toward holistic health and wellness. Attendees can share their stories and begin nourishing roots together. Free childcare for school-age children is provided by the local 4-H club.
