Jos N. Holman Branch (Tippecanoe County Public Library)Sweet Megg
Sweet Megg brings her band back to People's Brewing in Lafayette for a set that blends jazz, country, and blues into a sound that feels both classic and new. The New York City native, now based in Nashville, has honed her craft in settings from Parisian jazz clubs to Southern honky-tonks. Her previous studio release, Never Been Home, reached number 23 on the Americana charts and number 1 on the Alt-Country Radio charts, featuring 12 original Americana songs. She is currently writing her next original album and is also releasing a new jazz record, Massive Negroni, recorded in 2021 at Old Soul Studios with guitarist Thor Jensen, bassist Dylan Perillo, and drummer Chris Gelb. The quartet ranges from Tom Waits to Sugar Pie DeSanto to Duke Ellington, presenting an Americana jazz approach, and the album is her first independently released full-length jazz project. This event is a Mom&Pop production.
