Green Wave Electronics is hosting an electronics recycling and disposal event in West Lafayette that offers a convenient drop-off for unwanted devices. Most items can be recycled at no cost. Fees apply for certain items, including $25 per unit for CRT monitors or televisions under 32 inches, $50 per unit for televisions over 32 inches, $90 per unit for wood-cabinet or broken televisions or CRT monitors, $20 per unit for microwaves, and $15 per unit for any item containing wood. Items that contain refrigerant are not accepted, such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers. Collection capacity is limited, and operations may conclude early if the truck becomes full.

Rev up your ride for a community fundraiser at Old Buffalo's Outpost Bar & Grill in support of Combat Cookies. Participants can display their vehicles and enjoy a relaxed day focused on a good cause. Entry is $15, and top participants will receive awards and commemorative dash plaques. Registration takes place on site only, there is no preregistration, and any request for payment ahead of time is a scam.

Participants meet at the last parking lot at Prophetstown State Park for a dog friendly walk. The route follows a couple of different trails that loop back to the parking lot, allowing each person to choose a distance that works best for them.

At the Subaru Test Track, cyclists take on a 24-hour endurance challenge designed for both individuals and teams, all to benefit children in need. This extreme ride serves as the largest annual fundraiser for the CASAs for Kids Fund, helping power the work of court-appointed volunteers and expanding opportunities for abused or neglected children in Tippecanoe County.

Now in its third year, After Gen Con Second Saturday returns to the Vinton Room at Northend Community Center. The room is reserved and a fundraiser is helping cover the space and any extra goodies that support may make possible. A donation is not required to attend. Seating is first come, first served after any reserved seats from donations are assigned. If enough monetary or game donations are received, giveaways will take place, and every attendee begins with one entry in the drawing. Donor perks include a reserved seat with one extra entry at the $10 level, or up to two reserved seats with two extra entries at $20 or more. Donating a new game released at this year’s Gen Con, or other Gen Con merchandise, adds one additional entry, with a limit of one. For the giveaways, each game will have its own bowl for entries so participants can aim for the prizes they want. Each person may win only one game. After those are awarded, all non winning entries will be eligible for additional drawings for items such as Gen Con dice, dice towers, dice trays, and other collectibles, with no limits on these prizes. Two cases of water will be provided, and attendees are encouraged to bring shareable snacks like chips, cookies, or granola.

McCaw Park hosts an annual picnic for the Deaf and ASL community. Hamburgers and hot dogs are provided, along with plates, plasticware, and napkins. Attendees are encouraged to use the sign-up page to indicate any side dishes, desserts, or other items they plan to bring. Wolfguard Hollow hosts Amtgard in Columbian Park, a nonprofit, free to play live action role play game that is open to everyone. The group emphasizes combat and also makes space for crafters, helpers, and leaders, as well as anyone who simply wants to be part of the community. Gatherings are held at one of the free pavilions across from the listed locations in the park. Updates about possible location changes and special activities are shared on their Discord.

Paint your own Highland Calf~ in this all-ages painting session at Painting with a Twist. You’ll work on a 16x20 canvas, with guided instruction from the studio’s artist Jenny. The class runs from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM, and seating is limited. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase on site, and outside beverages are not allowed.

Enjoy quick, self-contained Dungeons & Dragons adventures built to be completed in a single session. These Saturday gatherings welcome both first-timers and experienced players, with limited seating that requires advance sign-up to hold a spot. The cost is $5 and includes a complimentary drink and snack during play. After reserving a seat, participants should come with a prepared character created from official fifth edition resources, including the Player’s Handbook, the DnD Beyond Character Builder app, and licensed third-party 5e rulebooks.

This back to school event supports foster, adoptive, and kinship families from Greater Lafayette, IN. Children who attend receive a new pair of shoes and two school outfits to help them begin the year with confidence. Celebrating its 11th year, this Field Day brings a fresh setting at the Wea Recreation Center on Lafayette’s south side, offering a full day of friendly competition, energetic live music, and community spirit. Teams of four can square off in favorites like cornhole, dodgeball, ladder ball, Kan Jam, Spike Ball, and a slip n slide version of flip cup, with more activities in the mix. The music lineup features Thorr-Axe, MAELSTROM BLVCK, Graygarden, Safety Off, Strands of Serenity, and Cicada, spanning heavy and melodic sounds, punk energy, catchy tunes, straight-ahead metal, and experimental psychedelic rock. The event welcomes all ages and is family friendly. Admission is $15, with free entry for children under 10. Sponsorship support helps keep costs low for attendees and ensures solid pay for the musicians.

Muddy Princess is a women’s 5K obstacle mud run built for fun, with challenges that have you running, walking, crawling, climbing, sliding, balancing, and laughing your way through the course. It welcomes Princesses of all ages, sizes, and fitness levels, whether you come with a team or as an individual. Spectators are welcome and can cheer from the Start Village and Finish Village area, with food and drink options available while they wait. There’s also a bag drop (available for a fee on race day). The minimum age to enter is 7, and younger Princesses (up to 13) must be accompanied by a registered participating adult. Waivers are required for participants under 18.

Explore a reptile and exotic pet expo in Lafayette featuring snakes, lizards, frogs, birds, small mammals, invertebrates and amphibians, along with supplies and feeders. The Annual Community Party at the Park is a free community celebration at the Tippecanoe County Amphitheater where everyone is welcome. Expect complimentary burgers, chicken, tacos, sno cones, bounce houses and live music, with plenty of extras at no cost. Hosted by Calvary Church, Second Baptist Church and Casa de Luz, this gathering emphasizes a safe and friendly atmosphere. For safety, the activities area will remain closed until opening, and the entrance will be roped off, so early arrivals may need to wait.
