Each session offers hands-on guidance to support you and your dog as you build the essential skills for dependable public access training.

Part of the Understand & Empower monthly cancer education series, this session features Jayme Morris-Hardeman, Executive Director of Thrive!, leading a conversation on brain health. The program explores everyday habits that support a healthy mind, including physical activity, nourishing food choices, restorative sleep, stress reduction, and mentally engaging activities. It welcomes adults of any age in the Flint Hills region who are affected by cancer, as well as anyone interested in overall brain wellness. Late Night at the Zoo brings a laid-back evening to Sunset Zoo with exclusive barbecue from Smokin' H's Meats, adult beverages from Manhattan Brewing Co., and desserts plus more at the Expedition Cafe concession stand. Expect chilled beer, savory barbecue, and plenty of wild fun.

The Manhattan Kansas area Traumatic Brain Injury Support Group hosts its monthly meeting at College Avenue United Methodist Church, with an option to participate via Zoom for those who cannot attend in person. Daffney Kubler-Hoffman will present a short talk on the role of sleep hygiene in sleep problems, then there will be time for questions, conversation, and peer support. The group welcomes survivors of all ages as well as caregivers. Sharing is always optional and attendees are welcome to simply listen.

The 27th Annual Golf Classic at Colbert Hills Golf Course is a scramble that supports Christian leadership training at Manhattan Christian College, presented in partnership with Bison Ridge Recycling. This monthly contra dance at Green Valley Community Center includes a short beginner or refresher walkthrough before the dancing gets underway, with music and a caller to be announced. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students and teens, and children 12 and under can attend for free. Comfortable clothing is recommended, and shoes should be clean.

Praisefest 5K brings a lively, community centered experience to CiCo Park in Manhattan, Kansas. Participants can run or walk, and supporters can cheer from the sidelines. People of every age and ability can take part, with an emphasis on movement, encouragement, and community spirit. Registration is open, and early rates are available for a limited time before prices increase.

Marking a decade of impact, the 10th Annual Gold Ribbon Gala benefits the Love, Chloe Foundation. This community gathering honors children facing cancer, supports local families, and funds programs that bring hope when it is needed most. Expect an evening of dinner and drinks, spirited auctions, and powerful stories of courage that underscore the purpose of standing with families affected by childhood cancer. Tickets are $75 per person or $600 for a table of eight, and proceeds help sustain the Love, Chloe Foundation’s programs for local families. Table sponsorships are also available.

A regular D&D Adventure League game night welcomes experienced players and newcomers. Participation is free, and anyone interested in learning the game is encouraged. Open to those who already play D&D as well as those curious to try it.
