This weekend in Paducah, KY

In this diving course, you will learn the key skills for conducting safe and confident search and recovery dives. Training focuses on search patterns, specialized dive planning, and tools such as lift bags, lines, and reels. You will also practice search and communication techniques as part of a dive team. When you complete the program, you will earn the SSI Search & Recovery specialty certification.

Hosted at Beacon Dragway in Paducah by Beacon Dragway and Stack’d Diesel Specialists, Boosted Blackout is a celebration of trucks and horsepower in a family friendly setting. Expect eighth mile drags, dirt drags, a mobile dyno, a burnout pit, a show and shine area, a vendor row, and food trucks. Competitors, show participants, and spectators are all part of the experience. General admission for spectators is cash only and purchased upon entry.

The Paducah Homegrown Farmers' Market showcases fresh produce, handcrafted items, and hometown favorites alongside live music each week. Held on Saturdays in Paducah, the season wraps up with a special Fall Festival celebration.

Paducah’s Emancipation Celebration honors the moment in 1863 when freedom began reaching enslaved African Americans across parts of Tennessee and Western Kentucky. For more than a century and a half, families have gathered each August to remember the sacrifices of earlier generations, reconnect with loved ones, and pass history to the next generation, making it one of the region’s longest-running African American homecomings. This year also recognizes 50 years of the W.C. Young Community Center, which has helped plan and preserve Paducah’s 8th of August Emancipation tradition. Festivities include a 5k run and walk, a parade, a community party at Robert Coleman Park, the Golden Jubilee Car Show, and the Lincoln Legacy Game Day.

Beloved felines take over the big screen as CatVideoFest 2026 presents a freshly assembled showcase of cat videos. The reel draws from a vast range of original submissions and also features animations, music videos, and classic internet legends like Keyboard Cat. The screening takes place at Maiden Alley Cinema in Paducah. Ten percent of all ticket sales supports the McGangsters fund at Lone Oak Animal Clinic, a local effort focused on spaying and neutering feral cats and making sure they are fed.
