Witches & Warlocks Spooky Bike Ride

Mandeville · Mandeville Trailhead, 675 Lafitte St

Wednesday Run Club hosts a Halloween themed social bike ride starting at Mandeville Trailhead. Riders can bring their own bike or rent from OWheelies, with standard bikes available for 45 dollars and e-bikes for 85 dollars, plus a wristband that includes local deals. Costumes are encouraged but not required, and decorating bikes is welcome, with a special prize set aside for a standout non-witch outfit. The outing begins with time to mingle under the trailhead overhang and a group photo, then the group pedals at an easy, social pace down the trace to Chafunkta Brewing Company, roughly five to six miles from the start, where a food truck and the costume contest await. Afterward, the ride heads back toward the lake to take in the sunset and stop at Sophie’s tavern, with the option to catch the LPO concert. Awards recognize the best overall witch look, a coordinated group of three or more, the most wicked or hilariously evil style, a top Halloween theme that is not a traditional witch, the funniest costume, the most creative bike decorations, and the best kid costume. These social rides are open to everyone and are designed to support local businesses while keeping the pace friendly for families and friends. Registration is available, and an optional five dollar broom pass helps cover event costs.

Slidell · Cutting Edge Center of the Arts, 767 Robert Blvd

CECA spotlights its long-running love for Rocky Horror with a production sprinkled with nods to earlier stagings. The cult favorite follows Brad and Janet, whose car trouble in a storm leads them to the mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter. As events spiral, the couple encounters a lively cast that includes a rocking biker and a creepy butler, while big dance sequences and driving rock songs unveil Frank-N-Furter’s newest creation, a muscular figure named Rocky. Signature moments like Sweet Transvestite and the Time Warp connect this staging to the show’s Broadway lineage, from the original 1975 production to the 25th anniversary revival in 2001 and the 50th anniversary revival in 2026, with playful Easter eggs honoring past CECA productions.
