Set in the tense days leading up to the March on Washington, the play looks at the strategy, collaboration, and moral conviction behind this pivotal moment in U.S. history, highlighting the pressure and threats faced by those working for change, including constant surveillance and intimidation.

An eight hour timed event on a certified dirt and cinder loop invites runners and walkers to cover as much distance as they wish. The .355 mile track encircles Clapp Park. Athletes start counter clockwise, switch directions halfway through, may use the full width of the surface, and can step onto the adjacent outer grass. The format is walker friendly, only fully completed laps count, and every participant receives an official marathon split at 74 laps. Chip timing is provided by Mike Melton and MCM Timing with a live, shareable leaderboard for spectators and post race review. Race day only packet pickup is offered. On course support features trackside personal table space with quick bottle refills, packaged snacks, and a no contact water and sports drink setup. Ice pops are served in the morning and pizza in the afternoon as an extra boost, and participants may set up personal areas along the loop. Overall champions are recognized alongside age group awards for 0 to 12, 13 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and 80 plus, with additional longevity and mileage honors at the finish. A virtual eight hour option is available in support of the AYJ Fund, including a handmade Ragged Cuts medal, an optional shirt for an additional $10, no age group awards, and a requirement to submit distance proof to the race director. Proceeds benefit the AYJ Fund, a northern Berkshire County nonprofit serving children facing a cancer diagnosis. Discounts include half price entry for participants under 20 with code YOUTH50, 10 percent off for those who have completed the race at least three times with code SERIALRUNNER, and 10 percent off for teachers, first responders, and active or retired service members with code SERVICE. If plans change, entries may be deferred for one year when requested in writing by the stated deadline. This race is part of the BURCS BADASS series, and performances earn points toward series honors.

Explore downtown Stockbridge on a guided walk that traces Norman Rockwell’s inspirations and the people who appear in some of his most recognized artworks. Along the way, hear about the community’s long history, including its 1734 beginnings and Mohican roots. Highlights include stops at Rockwell’s home on South Street, his first studio on Main Street, the Old Corner House where the museum originated, Chief John Konkapot’s property, the Red Lion Inn, the former site of Alice’s Restaurant, and more. Tours take place away from the museum, and transportation to Main Street is not provided. Meet in front of The Old Corner House. The route is mostly level and follows sidewalks. Space is limited and advance reservations are required, with each group capped at 24 participants. The tour runs in any weather. Admission is $20 and is separate from museum entry. Lala Tamar teams up with master kora player Yacouba Sissoko for an evening that threads North and West African traditions with a contemporary spark. A singer, songwriter, poet, guimbri player and dancer, Lala shapes ritual-infused North African sounds into a distinctly feminine voice, singing in Arabic, Amazigh and Portuguese with music that feels both nostalgic and dreamlike. She broke new ground by recording a contemporary album in Haquetia and, as one of the first women to carry the guimbri into new musical contexts, has shared stages with Karim Ziad, Khadija El Warzazia and Mehdi Nassouly. She also made her Lincoln Center debut in NYC. With a new album of original songs mainly in Darija, she offers an intimate Moroccan tribute to her heritage, welcoming listeners into a space of play, poetry, softness and strength. The ensemble traces the path of a desert caravan, slides into shaabi grooves linked to Agahadir and Algiers, and weaves African string textures with Arabic ornamentation. The program touches ceremonial healing music, trance-like connection and poetry carried across centuries, highlighting friendship, love and a shared humanity that reaches beyond borders. Yacouba Sissoko devotes his artistry to sharing West African history and culture while carrying messages of peace, love and harmony. Born into a renowned Djeli family in Kita, Mali, he began learning the 21-string kora and its oral traditions from his grandfather at age nine and was touring by fifteen. He studied at the National Institute of the Arts in Bamako and performed with Ami Koita, Kandia Kouyate, the Raoul Fulero Ensemble and l'Ensemble National du Mali. Rooted in community, he presents cultural programs and benefit concerts worldwide and blends his virtuosity with styles from Indian ragas to Appalachian tunes. This world premiere is co-produced by Goodman Theatre and Hartford Stage. The play is written by Phanésia Pharel and directed by Melia Bensussen. Catch The Legend of Georgia McBride, a high-energy, laugh-out-loud show celebrating chosen family, drag performance, and big, feel-good music and comedy. The story follows Casey, an Elvis impersonator whose life takes an unexpected turn when he steps into the vibrant world of drag. Expect outrageous jokes, electrifying performances, and showstopping numbers inspired by iconic artists, all brought to life with dazzling costumes and plenty of stage flair. Recommended for ages 10 and up.

Pianist Adam Tendler presents Inheritances, a concert built around new piano works commissioned from a wide range of today’s leading composers. Inspired by Tendler’s own story of receiving an inheritance, the program explores themes of lineage, loss, and place, weaving together an intimate set of pieces that reflects on the past while looking ahead.

North Adams Draws presents an open, uninstructed portrait drawing session that welcomes artists at any level to refine likeness, proportion, and dramatic light in a calm, pressure-free setting. Work at your own pace without formal lessons or critique while exploring your personal style. One model holds a single portrait pose for the entire session. Drawing time is arranged in 20 minute intervals with short stretch pauses, and there is one longer break of about 10 to 15 minutes in the middle. Participants should bring their own paper and drawing supplies. Materials that work well include graphite, charcoal, conté, colored pencils, ballpoint pens, and mess-free sketchbooks. Oil painting is not allowed at this time while ventilation and disposal solutions are finalized, with hopes to permit oils in the future. A drop-in art-making session invites visitors to explore sculpted portraiture in the special exhibition An Exquisite Eye: Introducing the Aso O. Tavitian Collection, drawing inspiration from Andrea della Robbia’s glazed terracotta Portrait of a Youth. By the reflecting pool, participants can create a relief portrait, and all supplies are provided. If severe weather arises, the activity shifts to the Michael Conforti Pavilion. Family programs receive generous support from Allen & Company. The featured della Robbia work dates to about 1470 to 1480 and is held at The Clark as a gift from the Aso O. Tavitian Foundation.

Repair Club with Jen Aviles offers a friendly space to learn and practice mending skills that help clothing last longer. Led by repair specialist Jen Aviles, this drop-in gathering welcomes participants who want to bring projects, receive hands-on guidance, or build confidence with common fixes. A sewing machine is set up for demonstrations so attendees can see the fundamentals in action, and there is time to work on repairs alongside others. The club meets monthly, and the repair specialist is also available weekly for quick looks at items that may need attention. This program is funded in part by the Local Cultural Council of the Northern Berkshires, with support from the Mass Cultural Council.

Movin' On returns to the summit of Bousquet Mountain for a third consecutive year, bringing live music from local favorites to a late summer setting. Panoramic views of Mount Greylock and the city of Pittsfield frame the experience, offering some of the finest vistas in the Berkshires. Food and drinks add to the lively atmosphere. Attendance is capped at 200 per show and tickets are expected to sell out.

In Conversation with André Bernard presents a series of five interviews with figures shaping culture, politics, and public life. André Bernard, former Vice President of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, sits down with Jodi Kantor, Max Boot, General David H. Petraeus, Kiran Desai, and Lawrence Wright for in-depth discussions. This summer’s program features individual conversations with each guest. Tickets are $35 for members and $40 for non-members.

Build lifesaving skills in an interactive First Aid and CPR/AED course for adults, children, and infants, designed for ages 13 and up. The class uses a blended approach with a 2 to 3 hour online lesson completed before an in-person skills session. About a week prior to the hands-on portion, the instructor will send instructions to help you finish the online work in time. Participants earn a Red Cross certification that remains valid for two years. The fee is $90 for members and $110 for guests, and the price includes all materials.

At Decker Boat Ramp, take a relaxed evening paddle focused on spotting wildlife. As daylight fades, glide over calm water at an easy pace with frequent pauses to peer into quiet coves and listen for subtle sounds along the shore. Guided by an experienced Mass Audubon naturalist, learn about wetland ecosystems, the animals that rely on them, and the importance of waterways in the Berkshires. The outing explores a gentle section of the Housatonic River edged with wildflowers, with opportunities to look for beavers, turtles, muskrats, and a variety of birds that thrive in wetlands.

The Chalet returns to MASS MoCA for a fun summer evening in the beer garden, featuring live performances and a bar. On August 13, MASS MoCA staff will perform live, and there will also be a MASS MoCA staff maker market. Come enjoy good company, music, and an outdoor hang in the museum’s atmosphere.

Set in the gardens of Naumkeag, this all-levels vinyasa class with YogaLee features a creative, dynamic flow that is thoughtfully sequenced from start to finish, paired with sunset views. A limited supply of mats and blocks is available. The practice follows the timing of the sunset, and the property remains open briefly after class so you can relax after savasana and enjoy the changing sky.
