CVMA MA 2-2 is hosting its sixth annual poker run paired with a community car show, open to all ages and the general public. Admission is $20, which covers your first poker hand and lunch. Children are admitted free with an accompanying adult. Participants can add an extra hand for $10 or purchase an additional card pull for $5. The ride features stops at Whitman VFW Post 697, American Legion Post 405, Upland Sportsman’s Club, and Middleboro Elks Lodge, with raffles and participant voting rounding out the festivities. Proceeds support assistance for local veterans and their families in times of need, along with local mental health and rehabilitation programs. On-site registration will be available, and further event information will be shared as it is finalized.

Liberty Baptist Church hosts the fourth annual Back to School Bash, a 100% free event open to the public. Families will find free food, snow cones and fresh-popped popcorn, along with a bounce house, inflatable games and complimentary haircuts for kids. The first 60 children who register on the day of the event will receive a backpack filled with school supplies. Backpacks are distributed on a first come, first served basis in the order of day-of sign-in, and each child must be present from sign-in until receiving a backpack. Each backpack includes age-appropriate supplies, with additional age-specific items available while supplies last. There is no preregistration and no proof of income or residency is required. Children may attend with friends or relatives, and every child must be accompanied by an adult age 18 or older. Parking will be available in designated areas, and attendants will direct vehicles for safety.

The Easton EGGfest returns with a celebration of grilling, live-fire demonstrations, and tastings. Marking its ninth year, the event brings the community together at Fernandes Lumber and Home Center in Easton, Massachusetts to share a love of live-fire cooking and food. Fourteen teams take part, including local food lovers and egg enthusiasts, small business owners, professional chefs, and staff members. Each team brings its own style while sharing dishes, recipes, and techniques. Proceeds support Boston Children's Hospital, pairing great flavor with a meaningful cause.

Campers rehearse and stage a laugh filled play, then dive into improvisation with quick comic exercises, silent scenes, and humorous mini scripts. Creativity takes center stage as participants dream up surprise endings to well known tales.

The Healing Path Farm and AWOL Homestead Adventures present a summer Homestead Adventure Series organized as a weekly drop-off program for children ages 6 to 13. Each day costs $50. Participants gain hands-on experience caring for farm animals, including mini horses, mini donkeys, playful goats, chickens, bunnies, guinea pigs, and ducks. Outdoor survival and bushcraft sessions may include fire safety and building, cooking over an open fire, knot tying, shelter building, and basic medical protocols. An introductory herbalism component focuses on getting to know local plants through foraging and learning about their medicinal uses, with projects such as teas, salves, scrubs, and tinctures. Registration is flexible, and full, non-refundable payment is required to enroll.

Old Colony YMCA’s Brockton Branch offers a free Summer in the City 2026 program for teens ages 12 to 18. The experience provides a safe, creative setting to connect with peers, explore new skills, and build community throughout the summer. Participants can express themselves through painting and other visual arts, work on hands-on creative projects, take part in team activities, and join community outings. There are also opportunities to strengthen social connections and practice leadership. Registration is required.
