At Falmouth Academy, the Grammy-winning Harlem Quartet teams up with jazz artists Steve Wilson, Renee Rosnes, and David Wong for an evening that blends classical tradition with jazz. The program features three world premieres, including a Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival commission by Rosnes for jazz trio and string quartet, along with two festival-commissioned arrangements by Maria Schneider for the same forces that revisit her pieces Sky Blue and Walking by Flashlight. The Harlem Quartet also performs Fanny Mendelssohn’s String Quartet in E-flat Major and Aldo López-Gavilán’s Frère Jacques. After the performance, Jon Manasse leads a talk back with the Harlem Quartet, Wilson, Rosnes, and Wong.

Live music fills the Calvin C. Gould Library Green at the Osterville Village Library with a summer concert series made possible by the Kirkman Trust Fund. Attendees can bring a picnic along with a beach chair or blanket and relax to performances from groups such as The Moonlighters, North Country Band, Sarah Swain and the Oh Boys, BTA Band, and Cape Jazz. If the weather is rainy, the music moves indoors.
