Created for parents and caregivers with pre-crawling infants, this series offers a warm setting to meet others, share experiences, and build community. Each session opens with a brief grounding practice, then moves into guided conversation and time for open discussion in a supportive, judgment-free space. Simple stress management strategies are introduced to support caregiver well-being. The program spans four sessions, and participants are encouraged to attend each one. Advance registration is required. Participation is limited to parents and caregivers with their pre-crawling infants only, and siblings are not included. This program is funded by the Coordinated Family and Community Engagement grant awarded to the Quincy Braintree Family Network by the Department of Early Education and Care. The Quincy Braintree Family Network is a program of Quincy Community Action Programs, Inc.

Antarctica performs a two-hour set of 60s and 70s pop classics at the Melrose Farmers' Market, filling the market with familiar favorites from those decades.

History Unlocked drop-in chats at Prospect Hill Tower offer casual, come-and-go conversations and public access to this historic site. The program is part of History on the Line, a series presented by the Somerville Museum with support from the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism’s MA250 initiative and the City of Somerville. Alongside Prospect Hill Tower, the Powder House and Milk Row Cemetery participate on select dates, providing additional opportunities to engage with the city’s past.

This trial class explores a different country through a virtual visit, cultural learning, a tasting of a commonly available local food, and a related craft. This installment highlights Japan, with participants sampling a food commonly found there and creating a Japan themed craft while discovering more about the country. Cost is 60 per person.

Clear out the gear closet and help give sports equipment a second life at this community swap at Hall Park beside the Farmers Market. Donate outgrown or unused items or pick up something new to you. Please bring items early enough so others have a chance to find them rather than right at closing. All items must be in good condition. Accepted items include sports balls, bats, mitts and sports gloves, cleats and shin guards, racquets and paddles, lacrosse, field hockey and hockey sticks, rollerblades, youth golf clubs, swim goggles, and razor scooters. Items that will not be accepted include helmets, pads, ski or snowboard gear, sneakers, clothing, hunting or archery equipment, bicycles, and ice skates. Black plastic takeout containers will also be collected for recycling.

We Like Wool returns to Wakefield Porchfest with a set at First Baptist Church. This town-wide celebration invites homes, businesses, and community organizations to share space on their property for live music throughout the day, creating a rotating mix at each stop. Celebrating its ten year anniversary, this youth-centered basketball event offers a complimentary skills clinic for children led by guest coaches affiliated with the NBA and WNBA. There will be competitive hoops competitions, a variety of mobile food vendors, and dedicated activity areas for kids. The program is designed to honor young people and uplift them through the game.

Celebrating its 10th year, Hoops and Hope hosts a free youth clinic at Dugger Park, welcoming participants ages 7 to 17. NBA and WNBA players and coaches will serve as guest coaches, guiding attendees throughout the session. Registration is available, space is limited, and the program typically reaches capacity each year.

A local photographer leads a mini portrait experience in Boston’s oldest neighborhood, capturing portraits among historic buildings and old world charm. Each session includes 15 minutes of photography and one favorite image to download. After the shoot, a Zoom video call is used to choose your favorite photo, which will be edited and delivered for download. Additional digital photos and print products such as boxed prints, wall art, albums, and cards can be purchased. Extended portrait experiences and options that add time or additional locations are also available.

Enjoy sunset archery with Brookline Parks and Recreation. Designed for participants from grade 4 through adult, this course expands on core techniques while encouraging focus, discipline, and lessons that translate beyond the range. Certified USA Archery instructors lead each session, helping archers refine instinctive shooting and develop a confident mindset to lock onto their targets. All bows, arrows, and other equipment are provided. Two four-week summer sessions are available.

The neighborhood is home to the most photographed street in America, creating a striking backdrop for timeless images. Each mini portrait experience includes 15 minutes of photography and one favorite image to download. After the shoot, select your favorite during a Zoom video call and receive an edited version. Additional digital images, boxed prints, wall art, albums, cards, and other upgrades are available. Longer sessions and additional location options are also offered.

Children and their families can enjoy friendly games everyone can play together. Throughout the summer, sessions include a puzzle race, bingo, and classic board games. This session focuses on board games for children and their families. Children of all abilities are welcome.
