    BYWATER CALL

Spire Center for the Performing Arts, 25 Court St, Plymouth
    See details

Bywater Call is a seven-piece from Toronto that folds Southern soul and roots rock into a riveting, genre-crossing live show led by the expressive voice of Meghan Parnell. The band features Dave Barnes on guitar, Bruce McCarthy on drums, Mike Meusel on bass, Andrew Moljgun on keys, Stephen Dyte on trumpet, and Julian Nalli on tenor sax. Their performances move from tender, reflective moments to turn-it-up anthems, drawing on influences like The Band, The Wood Brothers, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Otis Redding, Little Feat, and Sly and the Family Stone. The album Broken Souvenirs highlights that range. Momentum continues to build through praise from artists, media, and music fans, backed by a growing catalog and an onstage chemistry that keeps audiences engaged. Recent milestones include a return to Joe Bonamassa’s Keeping the Blues Alive cruise with headliners Big Head Todd and the Monsters and Larkin Poe, and a set at the Netherlands’ BOSPOP festival alongside the Black Keys, Warren Haynes Band, Marcus King, and Blackberry Smoke. As Joe Bonamassa shared on SiriusXM Different Shades of Blue, “One of My Favorite Bands… Meghan Parnell does a Hell of a Job… Put them in your playlist… embrace it…get the name out there.”

    The Travelin’ McCourys

Spire Center for the Performing Arts, 25 Court St, Plymouth
    See details

The Travelin’ McCourys grew out of forward motion, not a plan. Brothers Ronnie McCoury on mandolin and Rob McCoury on banjo learned bluegrass onstage with the Del McCoury Band, honing their craft through nightly shows. Discipline, responsibility and restraint shaped their path, and with Jason Carter, Mike Bub and later Alan Bartram they helped define a sound that was precise, powerful and rooted, with the audience at the center. As bluegrass entered new spaces and jam listeners embraced acoustic music, they saw longer sets, open-ended solos, surprise covers and bold choices create a different kind of energy. Wondering where the music could go when the rules loosen, they let a new approach develop outside the Del McCoury Band. It took shape in late-night sessions and eventually stood on its own. The Travelin’ McCourys carry that journey into the present, blending deep tradition with an adventurous spirit.
