Summer in the City 2026 offers a free, teen-centered experience from Old Colony YMCA for ages 12–18 in Brockton. The program provides a safe and creative space to connect with peers, build community, and explore new skills. Participants can express themselves through painting and other visual arts, work on hands-on creative projects, take part in team activities, and head out on community outings, with opportunities to strengthen social connections and leadership skills. Advance registration is required. Hosted at the Old Colony YMCA Brockton Branch, this opportunity is free for teens ages 12–18.

A Summer All Ages Book Clubs session in Fall River focuses on Too Late by Colleen Hoover. Guest proctor Maggie leads a 90-minute discussion suitable for seasoned readers and anyone returning to the habit. Registration is $10 and includes a choice of coffee or tea plus a pastry or dessert. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the hosting café in the weeks leading up to the discussion, creating a relaxed way to prepare and connect with fellow readers.

The Colonial Road Runners host a community run at DW Field Park with two distance options, 3.55 miles or 2.2 miles. Registration is $2.00, and both the start and finish are at the Pentangle parking lot. This event is open to the public.
