    See details

After the lights go out, a small group gathers by firelight to reconstruct the The Simpsons episode Cape Feare from memory. Anne Washburn’s Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play blends sharp humor with surprising tenderness, bringing together theater, pop culture, opera, and commedia dell’arte in a bold mix. Directed by Elizabeth Dinkova, Artistic Director of Spooky Action Theater, the production returns to its roots following an initial premiere at D.C.’s Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company. See details

At The Clarice in College Park, this production of Anne Washburn’s Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play imagines a world rebuilding after a widespread blackout. The piece weaves together theater, pop culture, opera, and commedia dell’arte for an experience that is both sharply comic and deeply affecting, noted by The New York Times for its emotional depth and expansive imagination. Directed by Elizabeth Dinkova, Artistic Director of Spooky Action Theater, the play returns to the area where it began after its premiere at Washington, DC’s Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company.
