Rolling Hills Ranch is presenting a series of five relaxed jumper competitions featuring courses designed by 5* rider Tara Ziegler. The setting is easygoing and supportive, welcoming newcomers as well as experienced riders. Entries are available by division at $45 or by individual class at $20, and late entries are accepted with an additional $10 per class or division. Competition begins with ground poles and progresses to the fence height each rider chooses. The arena measures 100 by 150 feet and is equipped with lighting if needed. Season-long recognition includes awards for high point riders in each division for those who take part in at least three shows, along with a trainer award for the coach who brings the most competitors. All fees are nonrefundable.

Each plate costs $15 and comes with a pound of shrimp, plus coleslaw and hushpuppies.

Professional resin artist Lisa Dunn leads a hands-on workshop that covers the core principles of working with resin and the many ways it can be used in art, decor, jewelry, keepsakes, and functional pieces. Developed exclusively by Artfully Dunn Creative Studio, this Resin University program blends more than 10 years of resin artistry with practical, real-world techniques in a comprehensive, beginner-friendly format suitable for newcomers and experienced makers. The curriculum explores epoxy and UV resin fundamentals, safety practices, tools and workspace setup, accurate measuring and mixing ratios, colorants including mica powders and alcohol inks, mixed media compatibility, finishing methods and effects, common mistakes with troubleshooting, and the different types of resin and their uses. The workshop spans two days with two hours per session and features artisan-led instruction. Participants complete two projects, a multi-step epoxy resin art piece and a UV resin creation, and receive a DIY resin starter kit to continue creating at home. Complimentary light snacks and beverages are provided. Those who want a fuller meal can order from the Granite Run Taproom menu and bar for delivery to the studio during the session. Seating is limited and, because supplies are prepared in advance, workshop fees are non-refundable. A credit policy is available for review. No prior experience is required.

PCA Chesapeake Autocross #6 brings precision driving to Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium with a cone-defined course that highlights handling and car control. Typical speeds fall between roughly 25 and 70 mph in second gear, and the soft cones help protect vehicles while drivers explore limits. Participants can build confidence, learn effective seating and control positions, understand braking thresholds, and get a feel for how their car responds at everyday speeds. It is also a friendly social setting with plenty of adrenaline. All makes and models are welcome to pre-register. Entry fees are $60 for PCA members and $70 for non-members. A $5 Taste of Autocross option lets those curious about the sport ride along with instructors for multiple runs without pre-registering by checking in at the event trailer. Driver entries are capped at 80, later sign-ups are waitlisted, there are no walk-up driver entries, and online payment is required for pre-registration. The day follows a structured flow that includes check-in, tech inspection, course walks with a guided session, a drivers meeting, and timed runs. Non-Porsches use SCCA classing, while Porsches compete in Showroom Stock, Production, Improved, or Modified per Chesapeake PCA autocross guidelines. Sound is monitored under SCCA procedures, and cars must meet a 108 dBc limit. Participants must be 18 or older with a valid driver’s license, except for the Junior Participation Program, which allows licensed 16 to 18 year old children or grandchildren of active PCA members with required consent and presence of the parent or grandparent. All participants and spectators must sign a liability waiver. Drivers need a Snell 2015 or newer M or SA rated helmet, and head socks and a limited number of loaner helmets will be available.

Elkton Ace is the setting for a special adoption event supporting Cecil County Animal Services. A Fill the Van donation drive will take place inside the store, where shoppers can purchase much needed supplies for the organization. Donation items purchased for the drive qualify for 20 percent off, with some exclusions. The focus is on helping pets in Cecil County through adoptions and essential supplies.

Presented by Landhope Farms, this community celebration features local artisans and makers, tasty bites from food trucks, live music, and plenty of fall inspired fun for all ages. Parking areas are unpaved, and a shuttle will run from an unpaved lot about a half mile away throughout the event.

GriefShare at Elkton Presbyterian Church is a compassionate, faith-centered series for those grieving the loss of a spouse, child, parent, family member, or friend. Across 13 sessions, participants connect with a supportive community, share their stories, and find encouragement in Scripture. The group setting fosters understanding, eases feelings of isolation, and offers a path toward renewed hope. Big Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys deliver a vibrant mix of Americana and roots music shaped by decades on the road and a lifelong love of vintage sounds. Founded in Southern California in 1988, the band reflects the country, doo-wop, and rhythm and blues that inspired Sandy, born Robert Williams, to start singing as a teenager. His personal record collection, 75,000 and counting, continues to broaden the influences that flow through his songwriting and vocals. An acclaimed tribute to Tex-Mex legend Freddy Fender, released at the start of the 2020 lockdown, signaled another step in the group's continuing growth. With nearly 35 years of touring and more than two dozen releases, they remain a fixture of the ever-evolving Americana scene on record and on stage. Opening the show is Philadelphia-based Ameripolitan rockabilly group Mighty Joe Castro & The Gravamen.

Shop for handcrafted goods, farm-grown foods, and other unique finds in one place. Maison Intimate Catering offers Sunday Supper meals to enjoy with views of grazing animals and open fields. A small farmyard petting area gives visitors a chance to meet sheep, calves, chickens, and a pony, which is especially appealing to children and grandchildren. Stroll the grounds, watch the animals in the fields, and settle into a peaceful countryside setting. The market runs in any weather, and if conditions are poor it simply moves inside the barn.

Adult singers are welcome at a relaxed, collaborative community choir rehearsal with the Oxford Octaves at Oxford United Methodist Church. No audition is required, and all voice types are encouraged. The group is beginning preparations for the holiday performance season and plans to present several performances throughout the year. Participation is supported by dues of $50 per person, collected twice a year in January and July, which cover six months of rehearsals and performances and help offset costs for music, equipment, venues, and related needs, with a focus on keeping the choir accessible.
