Kate Spanos Irish Dance offers a summer intensive in College Park with two complementary classes held on the University of Maryland campus, with the specific room to be announced. One session focuses on old style battering for all levels, developing rhythmic footwork to support sean nós and country set dancing and drawing on variations linked to Connemara, Clare, Caledonian, and Cavan. The second session is designed for advanced dancers and explores material from archival Irish dance videos, including Donncha and Celine’s heavy slip jig, Joe O’Donovan’s old style set dances, Peggy Cannon’s light slip jig, and hornpipes by Muiread and Frieda Gray.

Throughout the summer, The Wharf transforms Transit Pier into an open-air cinema with complimentary screenings presented by Pacifico. The lineup spans action, romantic comedies, blockbuster hits, and beloved classics. This screening features Catch Me If You Can (2002).
Transit PierRockville 250: Our American Story
Peerless Rockville presents a pictorial exhibition that celebrates 250 years of the United States and Montgomery County as seen through Rockville’s own story. Through images and narrative, it follows the community’s growth alongside the nation, beginning in the Revolutionary era, moving through slavery and the struggle for emancipation, continuing into the midcentury baby boom and rise of suburbia, and arriving at a diverse 21st century city. This place-centered exhibit features local sites and the people connected to them, showing how national themes took shape in Rockville. The exhibit is open Wednesday through Friday, with special summer weekend hours.
