Soar through the sky with Community Ziplining at Howell Nature Center. The zip line stretches 500 feet across and is about 20 feet high over a glacially formed pond. There are two available windows, 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM and 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, and participants can arrive anytime during the event, with the last walk-in accepted at 1:30 PM. The cost includes 2 rides down the zip line. Closed-toed shoes are required (no crocs), and you’ll want comfortable clothing suitable for wearing a harness. Weight requirement is 50 to 250 lbs, and the event is for ages 7 and up.

At Brighton Airport (45G), this twentieth annual fly-in and cruise-in brings together aircraft arrivals and classic or show cars. Pilots who arrive by air receive a complimentary meal. Owners of classic or show vehicles are welcome to display their rides, and there is no entry fee.

Closed toed and closed heeled shoes are required, and participants must be under 48 inches tall. Check in at the Welcome Center. Admission is $8.00 per child. A Sky Tykes punch card is available for $48.00, covering six visits with the seventh visit free.

Expect an easygoing environment where feeding, changing, soothing, and all the emotions that come with early parenthood are welcome. Conversation often explores sleep, feeding, postpartum recovery, relationships, identity shifts, returning to work, questions about what is typical, and any topics participants want to bring forward. Sessions are facilitated by a rotating team of postpartum support professionals. Participation can be part of a six week series or on a drop in basis, offering flexibility while fostering community.

Community Theatre of Howell invites performers ages 7 and up to audition for Anne of Green Gables, The Musical. Inspired by L. M. Montgomery’s beloved story, this production follows the imaginative orphan Anne Shirley as she arrives at the Cuthbert home and, through determination and charm, finds belonging while brightening the lives of those around her. Auditions include a character reading, a prepared song excerpt provided in the audition materials, and a dance combination. Readings and music are available in the materials, and you are encouraged to prepare the reading for the role that interests you most, with no memorization required. The audition dance can be learned at an optional workshop or from the posted video. An optional workshop is strongly recommended and offers dance instruction, song coaching, and additional practice time. Please complete the audition form in advance and attach a small photo. Only one audition slot is needed, and arriving a little early helps with check in. Dance shoes or socks are recommended, barefoot is allowed, and street shoes are not permitted on the studio floor. Callbacks may be held by invitation if needed, and receiving or not receiving a callback does not determine casting. Everyone ages 7 and above is welcome to audition, no prior theatre experience is required, and Community Theatre of Howell membership will be required only for those who are cast. This peer-led NAMI Family Support Group welcomes family members, caregivers, and other loved ones of adults living with mental illness. Participants can share experiences, exchange support, and learn from the challenges and successes of others in similar situations. Meetings are held at First United Methodist Church - Brighton Campus. Parking is available in the large lot behind the church, and attendees can watch for NAMI signage for guidance.
