Ride For The Living 2026 channels remembrance into action, honoring history, uplifting Jewish resilience, and expressing pride. The Detroit ride is part of a global movement inspired by the route from Auschwitz to the Krakow JCC, aiming to strengthen Jewish life and connections locally and around the world. Cyclists of all levels are welcome, with multiple pace groups and a new shorter, family-friendly option. The course covers about 30 miles roundtrip with scenic stops on quieter roads. Security teams lead and follow the group to promote a smooth and safe experience, there is a rest stop along the way, and refreshments are available after the ride. Comprehensive mechanical assistance and SAG support are provided. Non-riders can choose a Cheerleader role and take part in the finish line celebration at Ferndale Project, supporting the Krakow JCC. The event underscores the importance of showing up, and all entry proceeds benefit the Krakow JCC.

The Maltese clubs of Dearborn, Detroit, and Windsor are coming together for a first annual community picnic at Belle Isle State Park, Shelter 5. Farr Florist and Rob Farr will provide hot dogs and hamburgers in commemoration of Bob Farr and the Santa Maria Festa. Guests are encouraged to bring a dish to share. Picnic tables, cloths, plates, condiments, and watermelon will be provided. Games and activities are planned. A Recreation Passport is required for entry and can be purchased at the gate for $20 or through a license plate renewal.

Through age-appropriate lessons, participants practice grounding and calming skills, learn ways to release stress, build mindfulness and emotional awareness, and discover the basics of chakras, meridians, and the aura. Children also develop healthy energetic boundaries and gain everyday tools they can use for emotional regulation, confidence, self-awareness, and coping. This five-part series is designed with sensitive kids in mind, including empaths and children who experience ADHD, autism, anxiety, overwhelm, PTSD, or heightened stress. It focuses on helping children understand what they feel and why, while offering practical methods to find calm and balance. Each class blends movement, discussion, visualization, breathing techniques, emotional regulation practice, gentle nervous system resets, sound healing with singing bowls, shared healing activities, and hands-on learning created especially for kids. Younger children may attend with a parent or trusted adult who wishes to learn alongside them, and older children may participate independently. Space is limited. Early bird registration is $147, admission at the door is $177, and sibling add-ons range from $77 to $97. The series is led by Donna Lakes, Founder of ASHA, the Ascension School of Healing Arts. With more than 25 years in the healing arts, she has worked with many sensitive children, teens, and adults, including those navigating ADHD, autism, OCD, PTSD, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and nervous system dysregulation. Her approach centers on empowerment through grounding, emotional awareness, mindfulness, self-regulation, and healthy energetic boundaries in a compassionate, supportive environment.
