CasArt Foundation and Centro Multicultural La Familia present the 8th edition of the Colores de México Gala, Bajo las Estrellas de Guerrero, a celebration of Mexican culture and the traditions of Guerrero. The Magic Bag presents Stanley Simmons, the new collaboration from Evan Stanley and Nick Simmons that grew from a spontaneous online moment into a fully formed band. Childhood friends who spent years around music while traveling with their fathers, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of Kiss, they began writing together and quickly discovered a shared creative spark. After hearing their first home-recorded demo, producer Rob Cavallo came on board to produce their debut full-length and manage the duo. Detroit Axe brings back The Three Ring Circuit for its fourth year, spread across two venues over three days with six tournaments. The 2k26 edition is a double major, showcasing a Women’s IATF Major called “The Fern” and an Open IATF Major. Competition opens at Detroit Axe Corktown with a mini-marathon followed by a doubles tournament. The mini-marathon features a 12 game regular season that leads into playoffs and is capped at 20 throwers, while the doubles event runs in a double-elimination format. The spotlight then shifts to Detroit Axe Ferndale for the Women’s Major under premier rules in a double-elimination bracket, open to all who identify as women, followed by a Big Axe tournament using standard rules in double elimination with 5 and 7 round matches. The final day at Ferndale features the Open IATF Major, also premier rules in double elimination and open to all throwers, and concludes with a Skillz contest that uses a wheel of skillz in a double-elimination format, with detailed rules provided separately. Entry fees are $50 for the mini-marathon, $90 per team for doubles, $120 for each Major, $50 for Big Axe, and $30 for Skillz.

For over thirty years, Deerhoof has been known for bold, boundary pushing ideas, having formed in San Francisco in 1994. The lineup features Satomi Matsuzaki on vocals and bass, Greg Saunier on drums, and guitarists John Dieterich and Ed Rodriguez. Girls Gone Rx Detroit brings a celebration of strength, camaraderie, and purpose to CrossFit Bolster as the series marks 14 years, from 2012 to 2026. Day two of the sixth annual Highland Park Halloween Festival, a community event presented by Highland Gardens and Unified and United Michigan, welcomes all ages with free admission and will take place rain or shine. Established in 2020, the festival shines a light on and supports MLK Park in Highland Park within the city of Detroit. Built in the early 1970s and inspired by architect Richard Dattner’s adventure playground philosophy, the park was modeled after his Central Park design and is recognized for distinctive features like its on-site pyramids. This year’s efforts focus on needed improvements, including repairing brickwork on signature features such as the pyramids, helping preserve a piece of local history and sustaining the spirit of adventure for future generations.

Bed By 10 delivers a club night tailored for people 30 and older who want to hit the dance floor without losing the next day.
