Guided by a CNC naturalist, this relaxing three-mile paddle follows the Chippewa River from CNC’s launch on Homestead Road to the Tridge in downtown Midland. Each participant receives a kayak, paddle, and life jacket, and the group will meet at the Visitor Center before heading out. The program is open to ages 9 and older, with minors accompanied by an adult. The cost is $35, and CNC members receive a 20 percent discount. If weather or river conditions are unsuitable, CNC staff may cancel the trip and provide refunds.

Wing Thing is a free, first-ever powered paragliding (PPG) fly-in taking place at Jack Barstow Airport. Pilots and spectators can enjoy powered paraglider flights along with dry camping.
