Each week builds on the last, moving from foundational breathing and core alignment to pelvic awareness and mobility with guest co-teacher Sierra Miller, OTRL of Pelvic Wellness, then into core strength essentials, hip mobility and strength to support the pelvic floor, oblique and lateral movement, a planned break week, hip hinge mechanics with foot connection, rotational core work, and a final bonus topic with a series review. Mid-Michigan Laser Combat is hosting a beta tournament mission test at Roethke Park to refine details for a possible competitive format. Participants select their own teams and weapons, and the test features two-person teams with at least six teams involved. Matches put six players on the field at a time, players may field six guns in their team color, and each player can appear on only one team roster. The focus is on playtesting missions and rules to shape future competition.

Cook the Book is a Wickson Library book club that brings cooking and reading together through a shared potluck. As part of the 2026 schedule, Michelle selects a featured cookbook before each meeting and places it at the circulation desk. Participants browse the book, choose a recipe, add their name to the registration form, then prepare the dish and bring it to share at the potluck. As the first person to hold Notre Dame’s Professor for the Public Understanding of Science role, she uses fire, ice, and explosions to make ideas unforgettable and to educate and entertain people of all ages.

The Max Loves Midland Navigation Team gathers a diverse mix of community members to learn, share, and help shape solutions that support a thriving Midland. Meeting quarterly, the group hears updates from local leaders on key community priorities, then participants offer their own perspectives and feedback. Each session wraps up with clear ways to take action so attendees can continue contributing after the meeting. The upcoming gathering is set for the first floor of the Griswold Communication Building on Northwood University’s campus. The topic for this meeting is still to be determined.

At Midland Center for the Arts, Come From Away shares the true stories of passengers and residents when 38 planes were unexpectedly rerouted to Gander, Newfoundland on September 11, 2001. Drawing from firsthand interviews, the production moves at a brisk pace with propulsive music and interwoven narratives, showing how a small community opened its doors, found courage amid uncertainty, and turned strangers into neighbors almost overnight. The production is directed by Bill Anderson Jr.

An Interpretive Naturalist will teach how to clean different types, prepare them for winter storage, and decide when to allow bees to emerge. Participants will also review which species occupied the CNC hotels and get them ready to be stored. The meeting point is the Visitor Center. This free program is for ages 9 and older, with an adult required for anyone under 18. Registration is required.

Open pickup games welcome individuals, so there is no need to arrive with a group and it is a chance to meet new people. The event begins with a 20 minute overview of the rules and equipment, followed by a 40 minute battle to learn the system. After that, teams take on at least two semi-random missions and work together to secure a win for their side. The cost is $25. This event takes place at Roethke Park.

Thomas Trombley, Vice President and Chief Historian of the Castle Museum of Saginaw County, presents the history of houseboats on the Saginaw River, following their story from the end of the Civil War to the 1960s. Hosted by the Saginaw River Marine Historical Society, this free program takes place at Trinity Episcopal Church in Bay City, Michigan. The event is open to the public. Light refreshments will be offered during a brief intermission, and attendees are asked to use the Fifth Street entrance at the back of the church.
