Downtown Midland hosts The Sinclairs Band as part of The Commons Live Music Series, with the performance set on the Pedestrian Plaza Stage at the intersection of McDonald Street and Main Street. A longtime presence in the Mid-Michigan music scene, The Sinclairs have performed since 1997 for thousands at nightclubs, festivals, large concerts, and corporate events. The show spotlights hits from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, blending classic party rock, pop, and funk with songs by The Doobie Brothers, AC/DC, Poison, Bryan Adams, INXS, and Tom Petty. An Irish and Celtic traditional music session gathers at MI Element Grains and Grounds in Midland for tunes shared in a welcoming, participatory setting. Sets feature jigs, reels, hornpipes, polkas, waltzes, and airs, with the occasional barndance or strathspey, played at a comfortable pace. Musicians on fiddle, flute, whistle, guitar, mandolin, bouzouki, 4 string banjo, harp, accordion, and bodhrán or bones will feel right at home, and tunes commonly center on the keys of G, D, and A. A back to school benefit at Willew Lounge invites karaoke enthusiasts to help raise funds so foster youth can start the year with needed supplies. The contest is limited to the first ten performers who are willing to volunteer their time. Each contestant will sing one song that is no longer than four minutes. Judges will score entries on vocal quality, overall showmanship, costume choices, and additional criteria.

The pair began performing together soon after they met, and they recently completed their debut recording at Hit City Studios in Indianapolis. As part of the Lunchtime Concert Series, this performance takes place at the Amphitheater at Whiting Forest of Dow Gardens. Attendees can bring a blanket or lawn chair, enjoy a picnic or purchase a fresh sandwich on site, and relax with live music, rain or shine. Bring your little one (ages 0 to 5) and an adult for a fun, movement-based program with stories, music, and dancing. This is a caregiver-and-child event where everyone can join in on the activities. No registration is required, and drop-offs won’t be allowed.

Hairball John & Friends Night brings an 80s theme to a Great Lakes Loons game at Dow Diamond. Tickets are $22.50 and include a seat in the Hairball John & Friends section along with a $20 food and drink card. The food card is bundled at checkout by adding $10 to the $12.50 ticket price, and cards can be picked up at guest services at the game. A pre-game social takes place at The Cove Bar. Beer is half price, and Jedi Mind Trip will perform a concert on the field after the game. Tickets are sold through a special link provided by the Great Lakes Loons.
