Screening a 1943 film by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger, this moving story follows the enduring friendship between an English officer, Clive Candy, and his German adversary. Roger Livesey stars as Candy, with Anton Walbrook as his friend and Deborah Kerr playing three roles. The screening is introduced by Kevin Quarmby, Ph.D., of the College of St. Scholastica’s English faculty. The film is presented with subtitles.

Terrence Smith leads family workshops on the first Saturdays of the month. Participants ages 6 to 14 are welcome when accompanied by a participating adult. This class supports muscle maintenance, bone health, stability, and functional strength for everyday life. Designed with women 40 and older in mind, it welcomes beginners and experienced practitioners, with movement modifications and encouragement to work at your own pace in a supportive setting. Register for individual classes without a six-week commitment. Ten-class passes are accepted, and advance registration is required. The class is offered as a trial during November and December and requires at least three registered participants to be held.
