Newcomers can start with a beginner session and gear fitting, while experienced mushers and dogs may head straight to the group run. The schedule may shift with weather. Harnesses, lines, and bikes can be borrowed with at least a day of advance notice for what you need, and lines will be available for purchase if you want your own setup. Bring a healthy dog of any breed that is ready to run, a bike with working brakes, a harness, and one or two dog lines. A voluntary $5 donation supports the Twin Cities Dog Powered Sports Club, with Venmo, PayPal, cash, or check accepted. After the intro and setup, the group heads out for a run with both a 1 mile loop and a 3 mile loop available. Meet at the group camping parking lot, which is the second left after entering the park.

    MNDDC will present disc dog demonstrations at the Minnesota State Fair throughout the day. The program highlights freestyle, includes performance freestyle segments, Toss & Fetch, and Frizgility, and welcomes teams at every skill level, including dogs that are just learning. Two demo days are planned this year. Participating teams must be MNDDC members, able to stay for the full day, and willing to assist with duties such as setup, teardown, microphone responsibilities, and field cleanup. To broaden participation, the number of dogs per handler may be limited initially, with the possibility of additional dogs if space becomes available. Demo shirts are required for all teams. Additional details and the sign up process will be shared at a later date. The demo is organized and run by Roxanne, Arran, and Jess K, who serve as contacts for questions.
