Chops’ Day of Pan brings the sound of Trinidad and Tobago to Minnesota with more than 100 steel drum musicians from six ensembles presenting two free concerts with special guest Liam Teague. The program begins with a featured solo performance by Liam, an internationally recognized steelpan virtuoso from Trinidad and Tobago who leads Steelpan Studies at Northern Illinois University and has performed around the world. Later, the evening opens with League Night Jazz, continues with the Chops Pan Camp Ensembles performing alongside Liam to showcase what they learned during camp, and wraps up with sets by local steel bands Panatics, Tin Cups, and Pan-Handlers.

At Mixed Blood Theatre Company, the show uses a long-form approach to follow Clyde and Faye as they face auditions, setbacks, small roles and new beginnings, playing with a will-they-won’t-they spark. The tone moves between laughs and quieter, reflective moments, with performances grounded enough to feel scripted. Content includes sexual themes, strong language and crude humor, and there may be someone in underwear. Tickets are $25, or $20 with a Minnesota Fringe button. Musicians, visual artists, and performance artists are invited to contribute works honoring creators who have passed, including musicians, filmmakers, writers, performers, internet personalities, and cultural icons whose influence endures. The evening features live performances by local artists and poets, a collaborative community mural, and a live tattoo station with an Oliver Tree tribute flash sheet. A Razor scooter auction will raise funds for Dr. Oliver Tree’s Extremely Epic Art Grant for Baby Geniuses. Entry is free, with donations welcome. This is an all-ages program, though some artwork, performances, or discussions may include mature themes, explicit content, and strong language. Plans also include an Oliver Tree sing along tribute DJ set for the final portion of the night, noted as tentative. Shaped by the shared mourning that followed Oliver Tree’s death in June 2026, the exhibition focuses on music, memory, and the ways art helps people navigate grief while celebrating the creators who left a lasting mark. Programming is in development and may evolve with community feedback.

After Keith Morris’s time in Black Flag, he and Greg Hetson launched the group with Roger Rogerson and Lucky Lehrer, shaping a concise, ferocious sound with pointed lyrics. Their debut album Group Sex packed fourteen tracks into sixteen minutes and helped define the genre, and the band went on to appear in cult favorites like Repo Man, New Wave Theatre, and The Slog Movie while releasing six studio albums including Wild in the Streets, Golden Shower of Hits, Wonderful, and IV. Morris and Hetson have remained the steady core through lineup shifts, with bassist Zander Schloss joining in the 1980s. The program marks a return to the stage for the first time in over a decade, celebrating the band’s 40th anniversary and the reissue of Group Sex.

This performance is the band's second to last show. A Midwest tribute to Van Halen will take the stage at a Twin Cities live music venue for two 90-minute sets featuring fan favorites and a few deep cuts from across the catalog, spanning both the David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar eras.
