The 48th annual Afton Art in the Park is a two-day open air fine arts and makers market at Afton Town Square Park in the St. Croix River community of Afton, Minnesota. Over 90 juried artists and makers will showcase handmade work across fine art, pottery, woodwork, jewelry, photography, sculpture, fiber arts, and more. Visitors can enjoy live music, a wide selection of local food, and a Wine and Beer Garden. MFSA’s annual Mardi Gras in September brings a lively celebration to Guardian Angels. Enjoy an afternoon of music, food, and fun centered on friendship, with guests encouraged to wear festive Mardi Gras colors. Admission is free for seniors 65 and older, and $25 for those under 65.

Take part in a three hour, hands-on baking class centered on crafting a honey-sweetened whole wheat yeast loaf. Instructors explain how different flours and yeasts behave, then guide participants through mixing, kneading, and shaping a loaf. While the dough rises and bakes, the session turns to making fresh butter and basic fruit jams that complement warm bread. This class is for adults 16 and up. The cost is $50. As part of Art Across The Park, The New Feral Cats perform a mix of blues, rock, and R&B at Afton Creative Art Studio in a community-centered setting that supports local art. There is no cover charge, and food and drinks are available.

Designed for moms who need a breather, this relaxed gathering at the Ranch lets each person choose their own pace. Tackle hands-on fun or simply kick back and enjoy the setting. Try metal stamping to craft a personalized metal cuff bracelet. Spend horse time with a riding lesson, along with grooming and walking the minis. An artist talk with painter Suyao Tian accompanies Belwin’s exhibition Worlds Within Worlds, presenting abstract works in water-based media shaped by the landscape’s rhythms and calm presence. Tian will discuss themes of connection that bridge visible and invisible realms, humans and other life, imagination and memory, and the intimate and the infinite. The series reflects on how every being, place, memory, and form contains another world within it, layered, interconnected, and always unfolding. The program takes place at Belwin’s Savanna Center.
