    The Friends of the St. Charles City-County Library Book Fair fills the Family Arena in St. Charles with a massive selection at budget friendly prices. Admission is free for the public, while an early shopping period is reserved for current Friends members, and memberships are sold on site after current members have entered. Expect more than 250,000 items, including hardcovers, standard and oversized paperbacks, teen and children’s titles, board books, sets, audiovisual materials, and even cake pans. Typical prices include $1 for standard paperbacks, $2 for oversized paperbacks, $3 for hardcovers, $5 for cake pans, 50¢ for teen and children’s paperbacks and board books, and $1 for teen and children’s hardcovers, with AV materials and adult graphic novels priced as marked. Shoppers can pay with cash, check, or credit. A $5 per bag special for most items is offered during the fair, and standard plastic grocery bags are provided on site. Nonprofits can receive free books during a designated pickup window with advance registration required. A silent auction will be available online and via a QR code at the venue, featuring select higher value donated items. Please note there is a temporary pause on accepting book donations at library branches and at the Friends Warehouse around the time of the fair. Counted among the largest book fairs in the St. Louis area, it brings an extensive mix of titles and simple pricing for every kind of reader.
