His background includes roles in tribute groups honoring KISS, Bon Jovi, and Jellyfish, co-founding the long-running Jerry’s Jam Night, and helping start the Zappa-inspired band Jazz Discharge. His debut release, Playing With Myself, arrived in 2005. Offstage he runs McBeest Music, LLC, offering private lessons and full-service recording production, and he is an active studio musician heard on projects from Kansas City area artists. He currently leads Troubadour Retrievers and Special Forces, a salute to .38 Special, plays percussion with Superstar Mafia, and also appears with Brad Cox and the People’s Liberation Big Band, Project Mayhem, Kelly Blue, and other local groups. He is an Eagle Scout and a Tom-Tom Beater in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Iron Horse Bar and Grill in Lee's Summit features live music every Thursday and Saturday.

Haley Burke delivers expressive guitar work and a blend of blues, rock, country, and americana, with appearances across the Midwest that include the King Biscuit Blues Festival, programs with the Pinetop Perkins Foundation, a youth-division showing at the 2026 International Blues Challenge, and an opening set for Amanda Fish. Kansas City songwriter Miki P offers confessional, melodic pop rock influenced by the classic 70s singer tradition alongside 90s and early 2000s favorites, drawing on more than a decade of professional performance. At 20, Brooke Mertz brings an authentic voice and a growing catalog, having supported touring artists such as Forrest Blakk, Tre Mutava, and KAYKO, performed with Haven Madison, and released the single strings and a live EP recorded in New York. Rounding out the bill, Kristin Hamilton channels farm-town roots and a love of 1970s country, rock, and gospel into folk country with a bluegrass tint, performing solo and in various ensembles after earlier work with Under The Big Oak Tree, and issuing her solo debut Touch Of Blue in 2022.

A community drum circle gathers in Loose Park to honor the full moon with shared rhythm, movement, and connection. The focus is collaborative music rather than solo performance, creating a space that is healing, playful, and respectful. The gathering takes place on the grassy area south of the access road behind the large Stone Pavilion and the Japanese garden southeast of the Rose Garden. If it rains, the circle moves under the large Stone Pavilion on the main circle drive. Participants of all experience levels are welcome, whether drumming, dancing, listening, or learning. The circle emphasizes deep listening, ego-free participation, mindful movement, care for instruments, substance-free connection, and community over spotlight. Attendees are asked to support the shared pulse, play at a volume that allows others to be heard, leave space so the music can breathe, follow breaks and changes, and ask before touching someone else’s instrument. Please remove rings or watches before playing hand drums, keep high-pitched instruments gentle, leave the center open for dancers, step away for phone calls or device use, receive feedback with respect, and prioritize the overall sound. Hand drums are preferred and drum kits are not used because of volume. Melodic or supportive instruments such as flutes, violins, guitars, and harmonicas are welcome. Bring water and something comfortable to sit on if needed. Spectators and flow artists are encouraged. Children are welcome. Leashed dogs are permitted per park rules. Hosts Jessica Snyder and Jo Burke steward the space for the good of the whole group. They can help with concerns about safety or behavior so the circle remains welcoming and inclusive. Printed guidelines are available on site, and disruptive or harassing behavior may result in being asked to step away from the gathering to protect the community rhythm.
