The shelter relies on a large team, with around 70 volunteers needed each week. Volunteers can choose the day of the week and one of four overnight three-hour shifts that best fit their schedules. Training covers policies and procedures, includes a tour of the facility, and provides time for questions. No advance sign-up is required. Volunteer responsibilities vary by shift. Early-shift helpers welcome and check in guests, offer simple snacks and coffee, and provide bedding.
