The Great Global Greyhound Walk brings together greyhounds, lurchers, and other sighthounds with their people for a friendly group stroll that raises awareness of these breeds and showcases them as wonderful companions. KCREGAP is participating with a Kansas City walk at the Plaza Fountain in Mill Creek Park. This year’s theme is Mythical Mutts, and costumes are encouraged for both humans and hounds. All sighthounds are welcome, and registration for hounds takes place before the walk. Recent turnouts have grown locally, with 83 hounds participating last year, up from 64 in 2024.

Frenchie Sunday Funday returns to City Dogs KC with a playful mix of dogs, friends, and football season spirit. While it celebrates French Bulldogs, the event welcomes English Bulldogs, Pugs, honorary bulldogs, siblings, friends, and dog-loving humans. Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite red, gold, black, and white and connect with the Kansas City dog community. A raffle will raise funds for Kansas City English Bulldog Rescue, featuring a football-themed gift basket valued at over $500. The basket includes items for both dogs and people, such as a clear stadium bag, toys and treats, game day accessories, jewelry, a dog necklace, beauty items, CBD items for dogs, needlepoint-inspired toys, and more. A community drum circle gathers in Loose Park to honor the full moon with shared rhythm, movement, and connection. The focus is collaborative music rather than solo performance, creating a space that is healing, playful, and respectful. The gathering takes place on the grassy area south of the access road behind the large Stone Pavilion and the Japanese garden southeast of the Rose Garden. If it rains, the circle moves under the large Stone Pavilion on the main circle drive. Participants of all experience levels are welcome, whether drumming, dancing, listening, or learning. The circle emphasizes deep listening, ego-free participation, mindful movement, care for instruments, substance-free connection, and community over spotlight. Attendees are asked to support the shared pulse, play at a volume that allows others to be heard, leave space so the music can breathe, follow breaks and changes, and ask before touching someone else’s instrument. Please remove rings or watches before playing hand drums, keep high-pitched instruments gentle, leave the center open for dancers, step away for phone calls or device use, receive feedback with respect, and prioritize the overall sound. Hand drums are preferred and drum kits are not used because of volume. Melodic or supportive instruments such as flutes, violins, guitars, and harmonicas are welcome. Bring water and something comfortable to sit on if needed. Spectators and flow artists are encouraged. Children are welcome. Leashed dogs are permitted per park rules. Hosts Jessica Snyder and Jo Burke steward the space for the good of the whole group. They can help with concerns about safety or behavior so the circle remains welcoming and inclusive. Printed guidelines are available on site, and disruptive or harassing behavior may result in being asked to step away from the gathering to protect the community rhythm.
