Here Together: food, stories and sound

    4327 Troost Ave, Kansas City
    See details

Here Together is a shared circle shaped by potluck food, candid conversation, rhythm, and attentive presence. Participants gather on cushions and blankets either in the Creative Empowerment Collective studio with its bamboo floor or at an outdoor spot selected together at the close of the prior gathering, such as a park or a forest trail. The experience begins with intentional arrival, offering a choice between smudging or the warm scent of tulsi, rose, and chai herbs rubbed into the palms. From there, the time flows in a grounded, lively way. Food is exchanged potluck style, stories surface naturally, and sound moves through the circle with snapping, clapping, improvised singing, and at times a song played from a phone when it clearly fits the moment. This is a setting for people seeking genuine company, straightforward talk, and meaningful connection in real time. Some come ready to speak, others to listen, and those arriving solo are welcomed with ease. Children are welcome. Little preparation is needed beyond something to share for the potluck and anything that supports comfortable sitting. Presence comes first, and each person can participate in the rhythm of the gathering in the way that feels right. Many leave feeling seen, and they may also carry home a new idea, a recipe, a fresh perspective, or a story that lingers.

Inner Harmony: Sound Bath + Reiki Healing Experience

Trinity Wellness, 1500 NW Mock Ave, Blue Springs · verified Oct 11
    See details

Experience a 75 minute restorative session that blends a soothing sound bath with Reiki energy to support the mind, body, and spirit. Open to all levels, including beginners, this class is led by Glenda Masters, a yoga instructor, violinist, certified sound healer, and Reiki Master. It begins with setting a personal intention, followed by gentle breathwork and a guided meditation to prepare for deep rest. While resting in a comfortable, supported position, you will be surrounded by layers of sound from crystal singing bowls, tuning forks, chimes, drums, violin, and other healing instruments as Glenda combines sound and Reiki to encourage relaxation, balance, and renewal. Rooted in ancient practices, sound healing uses vibration and resonance to promote well-being. The immersive soundscape may help soothe the nervous system, ease physical and emotional tension, clear stagnant energy, and invite a deeply restorative state. Paired with Reiki, it can create space for relaxation, self-reflection, and inner peace. Participants often leave feeling refreshed, grounded, and more connected to themselves. No prior experience is needed. Wear comfortable, layered clothing and bring a yoga mat, water, a blanket, and any props that help you feel supported. A journal is optional, and staying hydrated is encouraged. If you have metal implants or medical devices such as a pacemaker, consult your healthcare provider beforehand. Pricing options include a $20 new student intro, $25 for a single class, or an $80 four-class monthly pass.
