Live music in Jefferson City, MO

An open mic at The Mission welcomes performers in music of any genre, along with poetry, comedy, spoken word, and dance. There is no cover, and tips are appreciated. Each performer gets a 15 minute slot that includes time to set up and perform. Musicians can appear solo, as a duo or trio, or with a larger group. Minors are welcome with a parent or guardian. Sign ups take place at the venue.

Young performers take center stage at Youth Jam @ The Mission, an event dedicated to artists who have not yet turned 21. Registration happens at the door to perform with a band, step out as a solo act, or jump into a casual jam. A sound engineer is provided, and the atmosphere emphasizes encouragement and support. Minors may attend with a parent or guardian, with exceptions for musicians only. The goal is to showcase quality live music in a clean, safe setting and to strengthen the music community.

Honoring five decades of Jefferson Landing State Historic Site, the Backyard Concert Series returns to the Lohman Lawn for a family friendly, BYOC show. Guests are welcome to spread out with blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic suppers while enjoying a summer soundtrack that celebrates Missouri’s musical traditions past and present. Cherry & Jerry take the Lohman stage with a ragtime set that spotlights works by several Missouri ragtime composers. If it rains, the concert will move indoors to the Lohman Building and capacity will be limited.
