    Get to know Jefferson City by bicycle with Community Bike Rides, a free series open to riders of every experience level. Rides occur twice each month and are geared toward newer and non-competitive cyclists, while experienced riders can enjoy exploring local routes and connecting with the community. This edition follows the Ice Cream Leads to Prison route, starting and finishing at Daisy Delight before heading out along Algoa Road toward the prison. Expect low traffic and mostly flat terrain, with a single hill on the return. Because much of the course retraces the same path, participants may turn back at any point to shorten the distance.     Enjoy a free, family friendly showcase of the machines that keep the community moving at Capital Mall. Explore real vehicles up close and get hands on with the equipment. Fire engines, street sweepers, police vehicles, forklifts, farm tractors, and tow trucks will be on site for all ages to discover. Guests can press the horn, talk with the people who operate the machinery, and take plenty of photos. This experience is presented in conjunction with Capital Mall’s Safety Backpack event, with activities outside in the Dillard’s parking area and inside the mall.
