To speed up check-in, fill out a registration form in advance and bring one completed form for each pet to give to the volunteers. Each SmartTag microchip features an anti-migration design that helps it stay in place so it can be easily located and scanned by a shelter or veterinarian. The unique ID on the chip links to your contact information so you can be reached quickly if your pet is found. SmartTag membership also includes 30 days of PetFirst pet insurance as an introductory benefit, and they note they are the only ID tag company to include pet insurance with membership.
