The program highlights the skilled labor of enslaved Africans in extracting the valuable blue dye and explains the science behind how plants yield that color. Visitors can see and take part in activities with a working fermentation vat, with dyeing demonstrations offered throughout. T-shirts will be available for purchase for those who want to try resist dyeing. This is a partnered program between Brunswick Town/Fort Anderson State Historic Site and the North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport, and it takes place at the North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport. This is an A250 NC event.

Jet 22 Refueled brings a crowd-pleasing mix of rock, country, funk, and blues to Rusty Hooks Dockside Grill. This performance marks their final Southport show of the summer. A previously scheduled date at American Fish Co was canceled due to family circumstances.
