Volunteer while meeting new people and helping provide meals for Alamance County neighbors in need of food. Each week, the team prepares about 600 nutritious, from-scratch meals for clients who are disabled, do not have transportation, or are unable to cook for themselves. Your time supports an effort focused on nourishment and community care.

Volunteers take part in a hands-on cook day at Swepsonville United Methodist Church to support neighbors in Alamance County facing hunger. The effort is tied to Stone Soup Menus, Inc., which each week organizes, prepares, and delivers 600 balanced meals for people who live with disabilities, lack transportation, or are unable to cook on their own. No professional kitchen experience is needed, and it is an opportunity to meet new people while helping with meal preparation.

Writers connect with members of the Burlington Writers Club for free coaching and focused quiet work time at Persnickety Books in Burlington. A coffee bar is available. All are welcome.

This relaxed chess gathering welcomes non-competitive players for a friendly round. Bring your own board or borrow a set on site. Admission is free.

Thursdays at Seven welcomes The Mason Lovette Band to Downtown Graham for a free, all-ages outdoor concert. Running since 2003, the series spotlights local and regional musicians who span beach, country, and top 40 favorites. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and relax to live music, with vendors on site offering treats. Event guidelines include no smoking or vaping, no pets, and no drones. Presented with support from Elm Realty and Truliant Federal Credit Union, with stage sponsorship from Always Best Care Senior Services, Ausley’s Chevelle Parts, Last Call HVAC, and The Verdict on the Square.

Part of the Summer Saturdays at Burlington City Park series, Positivity Rocks focuses on simple acts of creativity and kindness. Participants paint and personalize rocks with encouraging words or artwork, then place them around the park to brighten someone’s day. This is a free, family-friendly activity that gets everyone outdoors and creating together. Materials are available while supplies last.

Trail Kids hosts a family-friendly get-together at the Graham Regional Park Shelter with kids’ playtime, time to connect, and popsicles. No registration is required.

Bring the project you are working on and spend relaxed time with fellow crafters and makers. The atmosphere is laid back with no pressure, and there is no cost to take part. Feel free to invite a friend. Coffee, tea, and other beverages are available at the coffee bar to enjoy while you chat and create.

Now in its sixth year, this free community festival brings Alamance County together to celebrate Hispanic and Latino heritage with performances, flavors, and family fun. Enjoy live music and dance by groups representing many Latin American countries, along with a variety of food trucks. Families will find a Kids Zone with face painting, bounce houses, and hands-on arts and crafts. The festivities also include local vendors and community resource stations. Support comes from partners such as Alamance Arts, Alamance Community College, City of Graham Recreation and Parks, the Graham Police Department, and others.
